I haven't heard of them doing it with a stator, but it couldn't hurt to call HD customer service and ask. I've seen them goodwill whole motors before, never know with a stator. |

Knowing the backstory from our emails, I'm going to say something you won't want to hear: They already did their job to help you -- they gave you a free charging system harness update to protect your stator from failing, and you decided to reject the warranty fix and remove the harness. That's why your stator died. If/when they find out that you had the required harness upgrade installed, and that you decided on your own to remove it and drive the next 5000 miles without it, they're going to decide that the stator failure was your fault and not theirs. That would be a fair assessment of who should shoulder the loss for the failure. Goodwill programs are typically offered to people who suffered a loss through no fault of their own. |

After 3 stators and 2 RR, HD mechanics put the harness upgrade, and new RR and stator at the same time... But I asked about this issue is finally resolved, but they told me with this "upgrade" no more stator or RR issues will come. Sincerely I don't trust, and the same mechanic told me if it the same issue came again, HD will no charge the customers even they are out of warranty. |

I like your outlook -- like you, I think that I got a great deal on a bike, having to pay only a fraction of what it was worth. Yes, having to deal with the stator problem sucks, but in the big scheme of things the total cost of ownership on this bike is still pretty low. |

...the total cost of ownership on this bike is still pretty low I agree, the only issue with the CR beside the stator/RR, was the clutch weep, solved quick. But the "unsolved" stator issues, let a bad taste and not fully trust the bike for a long travels. It's a shame because the 1125CR is a great bike. |

If you have to pay for a stator, get an 08. I have an 08 rotor I'll sell for $100. |
