Hi everyone, just picked up a damaged 2008 1125R and can't wait to get it back on the road. I have been riding an X1 for about a year and a half, so I'm not new to buell, but this is definitely a big step up! I already posted a wanted ad for some of the parts I'm after but thought I would ask here too. I'm currently looking for a subframe and a diamond blue front wheel along with many smaller parts from the LH side. I'll try and post some pictures too. Thanks William |

New here myself, so from one 'newbie' to another, welcome to the 1125R! |

Welcome! I joined the club about a month ago. You will definitely love it once you get it going. I don't regret upgrading from a XB9R one bit. |

Thanks for the welcome guys! I know my X1 is still going to stick around as it gets significantly better mileage than the 1125 will, and is also a blast to ride for other reasons. Plus, two buells is always better than one, right? |

Can the subframe be straightened out? Maybe cut it, bend it back, re-weld it? |

Dean, if I can't find one I will try to repair this one, but it is bent pretty good. The tabs for the battery tray were ripped most of the way and I had to cut them to get the battery out. Here is a couple of pics of it. Notice the lower tubes are kinked and sticking out pretty far from the top tubes and the sides are also twisted from the second vertical supports aft. William

Try EBR for a take off, that's where I got mine from in 2010 after a down on track. |

There are a couple of salvage yards with Buell stuff, seems to be almost new prices tho. Check your local dealer for parts availability. You should be able to buy a NEW subframe for a decent price. Not at the dealer anymore so just a guess. Hope you get it sorted soon, you have an amazing motorcycle. Z |

if you're in a rush, this won't help, but if what you've got is usable and you can put off the replacement for awhile, consider this: I've got a spare rear subframe that I plan to let go once I finish up another project. I bought it to make a mock-up of the rear end for fitting some hard bags to the bike. unfortunately, i haven't done the bag mounts yet, so the subframe won't be available for a while. |

Timebandit, about how long are you thinking? I know that probably isn't an easy question. I've talked to EBR and they said they might have one, but I have to check back. What is a fair price for a good subframe? |

Well, the subframe/bag mounts were supposed to have been my wintertime project, so I'd have hard bags right now. I got sidetracked on electrical stuff... I think EBR sells them for $200. I could do better, but you'd have to wait... |

I got ahold of Michael at EBR and it sounds like they have one last subframe left. Might be my lucky day. Just waiting for him to get back to the shop and invoice it up. Thanks for the offer Bob and I will keep yours in mind if I have trouble. If anybody cares to know, you can find a new one from harley for $320, but I didn't check to see if it was discontinued. so what's fair market price for a good take-off subframe nowadays? was my guess of $200 too high or too low? |

I'll let you know what EBR wants for one when they email me, but I found used ones for 225, 250 and 325. |

There are no parts on the 1125R that are discontinued, dealers can still get new subframes, and I don't think there would be much of a wait if any at all to get one brand spankin new. Be careful when shopping for used parts, I've seen many things on Ebay and other sites sell for more than brand new retail. EBR will give you a great price on it if they still have one. |

Thanks for the warning and info Froggy! I have a complete list of what I need and what it costs new so I can avoid these poor deals. I can't believe some of the prices these people on ebay are asking. Everybody seems to be smoking dope on front wheels, probably going to just buy a new one. I guess since I have this bike and my brother also has an 08, it is time to start building a spare parts pile. |

Time for an update. I was able to score a take off subframe from EBR and after searching the other parts for awhile, I finally caved in and order them from the stealership. Just got the first batch of parts today and was able to get it together and go for a short ride! Now I am just waiting for the new front wheel in the mail and I should be set.
