My stock 180 went bad after 5000 miles and i had a 190 laying around from an R1 I had and it fits well. I haven't put many miles since I put it on. So far so good. It's the old Dunlop qualifier. | ||

I'd be concerned about growth at speed causing the tire to hit the front of the swingarm. IF the sidwall is stiff enough, this might not happen - handling will be just fine, but watch out for signs of tire/swingarm rubbing. | ||

I would go with a 190/55 next time. You will get alot more response and more lean angle than the 50. Just my 2 cents. | ||

But if you have a stock exhaust it will rub. Atleast that's what it looked like on my bike with stock exhaust. I have a barkers now, so next rear tire I will be doing 190/55 | ||

I have the Keda rt-2 exhaust. No rubbing, not even close. I thought I wouldn't be able to use all te belt guards, it's not as big a difference as i thought it would be. Looks nice though. | ||

You have the 190/50 though right? The stock is 180/55 and the best tire to follow it up would be a 190/55. Not that you maid a bad choice by putting a 190/50 it's better for straight line because it's more flat than the 55 but you do loose a little bit of turning transition and lean angle. I like how the 190/50 looks better than the 55 kuz the 50 looks pretty wide. | ||

I'm gonna stick with the 190 for now on, but I think I'm gonna go with the 55 next go around. I had this one laying around. It looks wide and it does handle somewhat different. I go to the strip so straight line performance was a factor. | ||

Some 190s work, some don't. If you go with a 190, raise the front of the bike a fair bit, even as much as flush with the triple... | ||

Arguable. It's more tire but it's kinda like the air filter question is stock better than k&n? I believe 190 looks alot nicer and I do believe it's better but that's up for a huge debate. If you believe theres no difference then more power to you. Make you're set up and enjoy it. | ||

A 190 is a bigger tire. More grip, more weight, slower handling. It's a trade-off. | ||

I think it looks better and feels more responsive. The contact patch is alot wider on the 190. If the 190 is good enough for AMA racing, then I'm fine with it. they use the 55 series though. | ||

Your statement is a bit of an oversimplification. In DSB they are using a Dunlop 190, which is designed for a 5.5" wheel, and is a more narrow 190 than some other brands. In superbike, they run a 200-series, designed for a 6" wheel. | ||

I think the Dunlop tire is The sportmax D211 GP-A 190/50 in Sportbike and superbike uses the KR108 195/65R-17 | ||

I run the Dunlop UK tires -- there are several compound choices. http://dunlopracing.com/tires-products/d211gp/ They are expensive, but actually cost less per lap because they last so long and aren't so prone to tear. | ||

Will a 200 fit on the 1125r?? I am just curious? I am running the stock set but I want to go to the 190/55 when the time comes. But If there is a possibility of running a 200 I may consider that also. I Now have a Saron so clearance at the exhaust should be good. |
