My bikes build date is feb 2007, the coolant is still the original, is it worth changing it ? If so what should I use, I'm in the UK, don't ride in the winter months and it's always kept in a carpeted garage under a cover. |

Yes you should. At most coolant should be kept for 5yrs. It is time. Ready mix ethylene glycol for alum should be fine. I use, 70% distilled, 29%(est) eg and a few caps full of water wetter. |

Fresh fluids almost never hurt anything. If it's been a year+ on the brake fluid, flush that too so it doesn't clog up. |

Yup. Coolant eventually leaves deposits and it does turn acidic over time if I remember correctly. Buell Service manual says flush and replace the coolant every 2 years. This is true with cars that use standard coolant. Many modern cars today use "Extended Life" coolant, which requires replacement every 5 years. You will need the brass washer for the coolant drain bolt. |

Probably easier to flush it this way. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?290431/603756 |

Ask a question and you'll get lots of opinions. Sometimes you'll even get a fact or two. Fresh fluids are always a good idea. Want to know just how bad your coolant is? Measure the potential between the fluid and ground. If it's over 0.2VDC then you should replace it. |

I believe you can. It uses regular coolant for AL engines. |
