Turns out the firebolt undertray is a little different from the 1125. But i'm always looking for an excuse to buy extra tools... this time it was a MIG and an angle grinder This is my initial time welding aluminum, so it aint that pretty!
stock XBR mount compared to the 1125 bracket i'm fabricating. some 3/4 x 1/8" flat stock provides structural rigidity.
the bags sit a little low, had to get some longer velcro straps. I used the same geometry as the firebolt mount, not sure where I went wrong. but it works anyway, it'll do what i need it to do.

also had to make an improved license plate/frame bracket, as this is what connects the saddle bag mounting bracket to the frame.
again, not pretty, but functional. |

bags look good on it. if youre not already doing so, try using helium when welding with aluminium. i usually just pick up a five gallon party balloon jug at walmart. |
