Just got done doing the stator/rotor and was out for a nice fun ride to make sure all was well. Did a hard down shift and holy sh## it felt and sounded like I had fried the transmission. Got it stopped looked down to make sure it was all stil there when i noticed te big flap of belt having there. Called Harley and the closest one is in Raleigh NC, at Ray Price, I've heard Good things about them, going to hopefully pick the belt up on the way to the track day. Fingers crossed, 1. Ray price is closed today so I cannot confirm the belt is in stock, 2. They have the belt. |

The parts lady looked at me like I had 2 heads - kinda funny Welcome to Harley dealerships - where a belt is literally a lifetime item, even if it only lasts 10k miles! Ride the one you've got for another 10k-15k miles, then replace it & curl it up as a backup under your seat. You can fit it nicely under there - it's probably curled tighter than is really good for them, but a "possibly lifespan-shortened belt" with you is better than a brand new one a couple hundred miles away! |

I'm still running the belt I had coiled up under my seat for two months as a test. It has 11-12k miles on it and 3 years. Here's a link - http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/450851.html Zack |
