Well since you brought it up, i've spent the better part of today working on a mount for my Samsung skyrocket (the phone that's the size of Texas). It mounts to the clutch fluid reservoir and utilizes the otterbox clip-in case. All i have left to do is tap the holes in the aluminum and then paint it black.
here's what it will look like when finished. it doesn't even block the display.
it requires some (amateur) machining work, but if you're handy with a dremel, metal brake, and a drillpress, i'm sure you could make a very similar setup work for the CR. I'll let you know how it turns out. |

Torquehd, that is very nice looking, but I wonder how much stress it will put on those tiny screws holding the lid on your reservoir. If you look in your last picture, between the phone and the red adjuster on your lever, there is a plug in a screw hole. That is the mirror mount for a CR. That might be stronger, and is very close to where you want your mount. There is one on the right hand side, also. |

finished the machining today, threw a quick polish on it just to see how it looks... too bad i'm just gonna scuff it up again to paint it black. pmjolly, don't worry about it. with it installed, i can grab the mounting bracket and shake the bike all around with no give or movement from the screws. which, i don't plan on doing while i'm riding anyway

Thecowboyblack, get a RAM mount system with waterproof Aquabox, there are multiple ways to mount to the CR, I recommend using the U shaped bolt mount and just putting it directly on the handlebar. I have half a dozen mounts on my R and CR, including on the clutch and brake reservoirs like Torquehd has, and some handlebar mounts, and some fairing mounts. The RAM mounts are very versatile, well worth the cost.

Torquehd, it is a radar detector, race computer, GPS, TPMS, phone Sprintst, no you can't. This thread is for discussing mounting phones/accessories for those that desire them for various reasons. Foxy_1, cars suck. Goldwing is fat and heavy, and the worst part is its a Honda. Frinzo, they were made by Nuts4mc. He made two different versions for me, his original design is mounted on the clutch side, I found out after installation that the RAM ball was going to interfere with some of my other gadgets, so I asked him to make another set that are extra short, and I have that mounted to the brake side. I forget what I paid, but it is cheap, 15k miles on them they held up fine. It uses the stock bolts, but includes new nuts. |

froggy, that's a cool case for your htc. it's waterproof and the screen still responds to touch? |

It is waterproof, the phone has a resistive touch screen and it works with that, but I recommend stopping and opening it up for anything other than pressing the accept or reject call buttons. |

Froggy, how many stators do you have on your bike to run all that? Is one of those a radar detector? |

The stock 08 stator handles it fine. Yes Valentine One radar detector with HARD system that broadcasts alerts into my helmet. |

The stock 08 stator handles it fine. That's because we all know that the stock 08 stator is bulletproof!! |

sorry to hijack the thread but i wanted to share the finished product. it came out great!
you get bonus points if the first thing you noticed was the Jameson logo... turns out a bottle cap just fits the USB charger port. hopefully it'll keep the water out. |

froggy - on that radar detector, do you have to plug in with an earphone? it'd be super slick if there was some way to use the BLINC/bluetooth... if only android had a radar detector app... |

All these posts are most interesting. My thoughts are put your phone in your pocket and concentrate on the roads!!! There are way too many idiots on the road that want to run us Motorcyclists off the road. |

Torquehd - The HARD system wirelessly broadcasts to a LED in my helmet, it lights up whenever something is going on, I can then glance down at my dash and determine the threat. http://www.legalspeeding.com/products.htm There is an app available for every phone platform called Trapster that will warn you of potential threats including speed cameras and known cop hideouts, but it is only as good as the users that update it. |

I purchased a mount off of someone on here a while ago. It uses the Ram Mount ball which gives me a bunch of options. Came in handy when I shipped my bike to Las Vegas and I wasn't sure of my surroundings. One day I will get it powder coated so it doesn't stand out as much. |

That's the remote to my Bluetooth adapter for my helmet. It's supposed to also tune radio stations but I was never interested in using that. Its easier to hit the volume button on the remote then on the helmet. |
