Whats the best way to go about checking an 08 1125R for having all the recalls performed on it like it should have? If I am not mistaken, the IC and ecm issues were the biggest concerns on the 08 models. Correct me if I am wrong please. My current thought is to take it by the previous Buell dealer near me and have them check it out but I am wondering how they will pick my pocket. |

Should be able to call HD with your serial number. They should have record of all recalls that were fixed on your bike. If recalls are outstanding, take it to the shop and it's free work as it's a recall. |

There are two different types of "recall". Product Campaign - rideability issues mostly, NOT safety related, expires at some point. Safety Campaign - as the name implies, safety based, NEVER expires. Z |

Zac, correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I always thought that even safety campaigns were time limited. I had a safety recall on an ignition switch on an F-150 that I bought used. The switches were recalled for causing fires. I know that the program eventually expired, maybe at 10 years? I forgot about the recall, and never got the work done. Then the program expired and I couldn't get the work done when I finally found the paperwork. When the ignition switch eventually malfunctioned I just replaced it myself. |
