One thing going for it: The sleeve of the EBR part is machined from SS, and it's surprisingly heavy. Despite the price, I'm actually thinking about buying one of these and trying them both. I figure the OEM kit in my race bike will fail eventually, and I bought the EBR part a while back to have on hand for the job. I use a Suter clutch and a somewhat heavier clutch springs, so my clutch action is especially heavy. Enough that within 10 laps, my wrist is really hurting. I figure I'll try 'em both and use the one with the lightest/smoothest action. I just bought Kevyn's CR, so I figure I'll use the one I like less on that when those sleeves give up the ghost. |

Mr dugger, my other passion, apart from bikes is rock climbing (I still have a score to settle with the Nose on El Capitan after having to retreat from 2/3 of the way up after running out of water), so I've never really had a problem with the weight of clutch pull. I walked around for years squeezing a tennis ball in the pocket of my work suit All I can say is, the Oberon unit gives one finger clutching (with enough lift for the plates) even with the short levers I have on my Helicon. The action is so light in fact, that several times on my rides, paranoia kicks in and I think I'm pumping air After the ride, I do a quick bleed to confirm that there really is no air present (and more importantly, no air). |

Jdugger, why are you running such a ridiculously stiff clutch setup? I haven't seen anyone complain about clutch slip on stock or even lightly modified 1125 motors, so what's done to yours to make you want to run such a stiff clutch? |

Crowley - I have just ordered the Oberon clutch slave cylinder, any issues to look out for when changing out the OEM unit please? |

DJ, it fits just like the original. A lick of fluid on the seals, and bung it in |

Cheers Crowley, I live on the Wirral so getting to Ty Croes is easy but thanks for the offer, Whilst I am lucky enough not to have had a clutch weep issue with the OEM parts by fitting the Oberon unit I am looking to stave off the inevitable, its about time I changed the hydraulic fluid in the clutch system anyway. |

I shall translate for you Bex, using The Queens English Gaff = home Ty Croes = best racing circuit in England (actually in the very West of Wales - very close to the spiritual home of Buells) Doss = overnight stay |

Saw the Oberon unit at there stand at Excel yesterday. Very well made piece of kit, the engine case sliders are also very nice. Very helpful chaps, talked me through the whole instal and reasons they put hex fitting on the back, weep hole lower down, and locating lug in. Also explained while the O rings in standard unit fail. When mine starts leaking again I'll be buying one for sure. |

Wasn't mentioned, I never asked. I did look at there levers and they are very nice, and actually adjust using 1 hand which is handy if doing it on the move. |

Oberon slave cylinder fitted, much better clutch action, highly recommend this mod to all. Now to get some miles on the bike assuming the weather allows |

Much lighter, less effort to pull the clutch in. |

> Much lighter, less effort to pull the clutch in. Ok, ordering one. That's what I want. My clutch lever is so stiff my wrist aches after just a few laps. Part of it is a stiffer main spring in the Suter and the RCS19 MC I'm using to make the friction zone tighter, but I've noticed the action just isn't without drag. Thanks. (Ug... $200 delivered. Ouch.) (Message edited by jdugger on February 17, 2012) |

Not only is it lighter (one finger jobbie - even with short Pazzos) it does seem to be a lot smoother. Of course, this is may just be my imagination, but internal friction seems reduced possibly by the piston being located more positively? |
