My first post. I recently took my 08 1125r (23k miles) for the a ride and noticed when opening up the throttle at 4000-6000 rpm the bike would hesitate before responding or not respond until I added a lot more throttle. Until now the response has always been smooth rather than jumpy. The bike has an EBR race ECM and FMF slip-on exhaust. I think maybe the ECM had something to do with it? Has anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas what it might be? |

do you still have the active intake solenoid on the bike? |

Timebandit, The ebr ECM disables the intake solenoid. There is some resistance to the throttle if the solenoid is left in place, but it shouldn't have that much of an effect. Darren31184, try a tps reset: To reset an 08+ Buell, do the following: 1. Turn on the key. 2. Set the kill switch to the run position. 3. Don’t start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently forced closed) to fully open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently forced closed). 4. Repeat 3 times. Hold each position (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second. 5. Turn the key off and on. |

Check to see if your throttle cables are sticking around the airbox. Same thing happened to me. |

The noid was causing my throttle to open inconsistently. Remove it (unbolt the noid, disconnect its cable, and remove it completely) and I bet that'll help a lot. |

Thanks all. I am going for another ride today. I will try the TPS reset before going out, and see if the problem presents again. Either way, I will take the solenoid out afterward, and check the throttle cables if I have the problem again. Question on removing the solenoid. I found these websites with how-to guides, http://www.sporttwin.com/index.php?/topic/19298-de -noid-removing-the-active-intake-solenoid/ and http://www.buelletinboard.com/forums/showthread.ph p?10079-De-noid-removing-the-active-intake-solenoi d both mention placing a resistor where the solenoid used to be. What size(ohm)/type of resistor should this be? Does it go right where the solenoid used to be? |

the RACE ECM ignores the solenoid and missing electrical "load" from the solenoid - you should be good to go without the resistor as long as you have the RACE ECM |

IIRC it's 120R 3W. |

If your local dealer doesn't have one, and you have to mail order, consider this: EBR has them for $5. That's a really good price. Cheaper to buy it there than to buy the Deusch connector and install the proper resistor yourself. |

Thanks all. The bike performed perfectly after doing the TPS reset today. Actually it felt like a whole new bike, which I thought was weird. Makes me think something else is up, but I am not complaining. I appreciate all the info on the solenoid replacement. I'll remove the solenoid when the part come in and report back. |

As DK and Nuts stated above, if you have the EBR ECM then you can just unplug the solenoid without the need for the resistor. I don't have an EBR ECM so can't confirm this, but have seen this stated several times so believe it to be fact. Save yourself the $5 and buy a gallon of gas and a mt. dew for the next ride :-) |
