Hey guys just wanted some advice, I had a low side on my "Bertha" going home from work. It was snowing pretty bad but I managed to make almost home when a sneaky patch of ice got me not even a mile away from home. I'm ok and the bike is "ok" too, just some cosmetic damage. The stator cover took most of the damage as well as the left spool and the shifter, some scrathes on the left fairing and my CRG mirror is broken. But aside from that everything is "ok". I guess if I was going to have a low side, I would rather have it during a snow storm than not, it makes me feel a little better. My question to you guys is there a part number for the stator cover? Should i just wait until my stator craps out and buy the EBR Stator? What about the spool? I know American sport bike has the fairings, what about a new shifter? Thanks for the help. |

I had a low speed low side and did the same thing to my clutch cover. I used a file and an emery wheel to smooth it all back out and painted it with touch up paint. I replaced the center plug, medallion, pod cover, clutch lever, and shifter tip with parts from American Sport Bike. |

Looks like you need the shifter now. Some part numbers for the shifter assembly: N0630.1AM; shift pedal assembly, w A06020.2CVB, BO613.1BL & N0600.1AM A06020.2CVB; bolt B0613.1BL; washer N0600.1AM; toepeg, shifter pedal Did you lose the puck? Cosmetically, the stator cover doesn't look all that bad. If you'd rather not replace the stator cover now, other options to consider would be the EBR carbon fiber band-aid, or some touch-up. http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/models/1125r/ carbon-fiber-stator-cover-guard.html The price sure is right for touch-up, and as far as battle scars go, that one's not so bad. If you plan to keep riding in the winter it might make sense to put off replacing the stator cover and the left pod for now. |

Looks like a good excuse to get the CF case guards to me.They look good and I know they work on a 60mph or better low side.American Sportbike for everything else.To me it is kind of like a scar.I fix what I have to and just get the new parts in case I ever want to sell Peggy(like that will ever happen |

Pods buff out. I know Straighten the shifter if you have too. Leave stator cover as is if you're going to continue riding in Winter. |

Thanks guys for the quick response. The CF from ebr seems like a good idea. I guess everyone eventually had an accident I'm just glad mine wasn't all that serious but still though it kind of sucks. |

Gravity is very dependable. Works fast too. Mine was at zero mph and I tore my rotator cuff somewhere inbetween trying to not let it fall and picking it back up by myself quickly. (Message edited by duphuckincati on December 20, 2011) |

David Glad you're not hurt too bad. Make sure the bike shifts smooth - some have had troubles with shifter forks after a contact with the ground. I slid out of the parking lot of my shop on the right side a couple of years ago. Cost me a pod and a clutch cover - $300+ with discount. Battle scars.... Fix her up your best, call me if you want help. Find me in the BRAN. Zack |

Does anybody know the difference between rev A and Rev b? I'm trying to buy a puck for the stator side but not sure if the Rev A would work for my 1125cr. The rev A is cheaper than Rev b and I only really need the stator side. Would the Rev A work in my bike? |

double check on this, but i think REV A was for 2008 and all 2009-10 use REV B. |

Rev A will work on the stator side, but not on the clutch side. So you will have one spare for the stator side. If you're buying carbon fiber covers also, you may better buy OEM puck, it's pretty cheap for the stator side, but not for the clutch side (rev B). |

David - As you found out, the small plastic puck on the stator side(almost identical to the RevA clutch cover puck) is nearly useless for protection. Your best option, honestly, would be to get the CF cover guard from EBR or the puck set from GrandStand Designs. http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/models/1125r/ carbon-fiber-stator-cover-guard.html http://grandstanddesigns.com/shop/index.php?l=prod uct_detail&p=64 |

Zack, I bought the rev B pucks for both sides. But I think im going to get the frame sliders from pelacrash.com. The only thing is that they are based out of Spain so idk how trust worthy they are. |

So you got GrandStands? Theirs should actually protect the case in a slide. There was much talk here a couple of years ago about Pelacrash's sliders and those a BWBer was making himself. Pretty big "con" for me was potential frame damage in a crash like a high-side or end-o. Z |

Yeah I bought the grand stands. To me it seems like you would need a little more protection, I don't think the pelacrash attach directly to the frame, maybe somewhere in the engine. |

Pelacrash attach to the motor mount brackets. The come with longer bolts, which take the place of the regular motor mount bolts. Don't know how they'd do with a riding speed low side, as there would be an incredible amount of sheer put on the bolts. Admittedly, my bike hit the pavement at about 1 mph after sliding out on fertilizer pellets. Held up fine for that. |

Bigvildoer, How was the installation and how did you pay for them? are they pretty trustworthy? |

Hey everyone, Just a quick update on my Bertha, or should I say Bertha V2.0. I bought the necessary things that most of you recommended to patch up my Bertha and it is finally installed. Just a quick thank you to EBR for their K&N Air filter and their cool pegs, American Sport bike for their quick shipping and awesome pod, and GSD pucks for future protection and quick shiping.
So my Bertha looks just as good as before (aside from all that rash on the stator side) but as Zac4Mac said battle scars. Thank you guys for all the help. |
