Just got the track side rear and front stands from cycle gear only like $40 each! Rear comes with both spool lift and swing arm lift. These things seem pretty well built, thick tubing, with solid construction. I figured I'd have to spread the rear a little to fit the spools, boy was I wrong they fit fine. Looks like the only real adjustments I'm going to do is maybe put some grip on he handle and maybe get some bigger wheels for the rear(to get the wheel a little higher off the ground), but neither of these are necessary. |

Aren't there enough threads on that topic? This was thread is about an American company selling a quality product(albeit made in china), at a very reasonable cost, that worked for our odd size swing arms. (Message edited by Kruizen on December 18, 2011) |

I got my stand from Trex racing, they threw in swing arm sliders for free. The stands are solid, and I like that the front stand picks the bike up from the triple trees. http://t-rex-racing.com/catalog.php?category=122 |

Good find. I have the Pit Bull rear lift and I am in need of a front lift. This gives me another option to choose from. Thanks for the thread. |

I picked up a set of Trex stands from a friend. My only issue is that the 2008 does not have a mount for spools...and the other mounting method leaves the bike ready to fall due to the high slope of the swing arm. Has any one every prep'd an 2008 1125R for the spools? |

i also have the trackside rear stand, but prefer to use the trackside chock vice a stand on the front. i am happy with them both, and can do everyhting i need with these and a floor jack. i'd buy the pit-bulls if i really wanted a front stand that lifts fron the steering stem |

Has any one every prep'd an 2008 1125R for the spools? you can drill holes and bolt on a set of spools, have some threaded bosses welded on, or swap to an 09 swingarm. it all has been done. |

I had a bad experience recently with a Pitbull Newfront Stand -- not a problem with the stand, more of a problem with the merchant. Be careful about where you order. The Newfront Stand is supposed to come with the pin of your choice at no extra charge. Although Pitbull sells the stands this way, and most reputable merchants include the pins with the stand, I found that the merchant that I ordered from didn't include the pin, and charged an extra $12 for it. Worst of all, this merchant didn't even have a suitable box to ship the stand, so they shipped the stand using two boxes that were taped together end to end. It was not a good solution. While UPS had the package, it was "mishandled" to the point that both the the top and the bottoms of the boxes blew open through the fiber-reinforced tape and the entire contents of the box got dumped out. Somebody gathered as many parts of the shipment as they could, dumped them in the box, and folded the box back shut. When the box arrived, the UPS guy dropped it on the doorstep and ran away without giving me a chance to inspect the package, reject it, or file a claim. I just found a busted-up box sitting on my front porch with parts hanging out of it, and some parts missing. I called the merchant and they were totally uncooperative. They did a crappy job packing the box and they didn't care to help me solve the problem. They tried to blame the problem on UPS, when it was obvious that the package was not even packed to minimally acceptable standards to qualify for UPS insurance, and the package wasn't even insured by the shipper for it's actual value. The "superstore" for "motorcycles" just decided to ship as cheaply as possible without any interest in the final outcome, and when things went bad they weren't there to stand behind the product. I had 30 days to return the package. I got no satisfaction trying to work things out with the seller; instead of re-shipping the pin that was lost in transit, they left me with a stand that had no pin and was not usable. They blamed the problem on UPS and refused to help me. UPS never showed up to inspect the package related to a shipping loss claim. My only recourse was to file a VISA complaint and ship the package back at my expense. It's not cheap to ship a Pitbull stand. They're heavy and large. 5 weeks later the UPS guy arrives at the door unannounced and asks for the package so he can inspect it for damage. WTF?!? UPS refused to contact me about the claim for 5 weeks and then somebody just shows up at my door unannounced, looking for a box that's ready to be picked up?!? Obviously, UPS knows that customers have 30-days to return something to most shippers, so they don't show up to investigate a damage claim until 5-6 weeks after the claim was made. That way, UPS is assured that you've paid out of your pocket to send the merchandise back, so they're off the hook. Moral of the story: The Pitbull stands are great products, but Motorcycle Superstore is a really bad place to buy one. They'll charge you extra for the pin that's supposed to be free, they'll ship it in inadequate packaging, and when the merchandise arrives incomplete/damaged they'll leave you holding the bag. Shop with somebody else. I love my Pitbull rear stand. I plan on reordering another Newfront Stand with the detachable handle from STG. STG will ship the stand for free and they won't charge you an extra $12 for the #3 pin that's supposed to come free when you buy the stand. (Message edited by timebandit on December 20, 2011) |
