After being off the road with electrical issues for 87 days, riding home at night dash went blank. When it return voltage is 17.0v. Last time replaced the sub frame, not enough heat transfer to plate, harness pins replaced along with relay and regulator. Next day on the way to work after about 5 kms, every time I opened the throttle, blank dash, after a long idle voltage back to 16v. This went on from 20kms until I got to the shop. |

Sounds like a regulator is not doing it's job |

Just replace it with an aftermarket VR... they are about the same price as an OEM one and they are WAY more reliable |

Dealer says, stator, voltage reg, harness and relay. All to be replaced. |

That just means the dealer can't be arsed doing the diagnosis so he'll just box swap.. On the plus side you'll be getting a complete new charging system... On the neg side it's still a bad one.. The issue seems to be a bad VR (this time), dealer should know that... |

if out of warranty just replace the VR with an FH12AA for example, doesn't sound like a stator issue to be honest. |
