Honestly, I'm gonna be pretty conservative about when/how I ride this winter. They salt pretty heavily around town which is nice but I'm not quite as trusting about outer roads and even the inner-town roads. The route to and from work at least is plenty. I loathe ice with a passion so I'm not real keen on hitting the road any time I've a doubt of roads being clear. It'll probably be a week or two before I can ride comfortably enough for my tastes, even though we're only due for snow once or twice more over the weekend. Besides, I'm a little too masochistic for my own good, it wouldn't be right to NOT ride with that in mind Probably gonna forgo the ECM, bike seems to run fine out here and with it being so chilly, I'd rather it run lean and hot anyways. |

@Satori - Moved to Casper. Never lived in the high plains so its a huge adjustment going from the PNW to the mountains. I can't say I hate it but its certainly been an adjustment. Its growing on me. Drive what I want, shoot what I want, do what I want. Its kinda nice here! These so-called cowboys sure do have it good. My only beef is the lack of twisties in my immediate area, but I've got the pathfinder reservoir and Casper mountain (which is five minutes away) for now. I'll have to set out and explore a bit more, see what else I can find. I hear the black hills are a hell of a romp but they're three hours out. Summer thing certainly. Rumor has it the cops have stepped it up out there for sport bikes so I'm a leeeettle leery. |

a) the HD brand battery has the "correct" terminals to minimize any chance of shorting to the frame...it's produced by a major power sports battery Company...if you're not electo-mecanicaly inclined..it's the one to buy. b) if you don't buy the HD type battery - watch that the terminal orientation ( + & -) terminals are correct for the 1125 - most rice burner batteries have the (+ & -) terminals reversed when compared to the 1125. c) I like the Ctek brand of charger - class act when it comes to the connectors...and it has some kind of "De-sulfation" circuit. http://www.amazon.com/CTEK-800-Smart-Battery-Charger/dp/B002QUT8IC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1322833974&sr=8-3 get's kinda windy up there - maybe you could have a wind driven charging system - like the sail boats in our bay...

Hahahaha ain't that the truth. 50mph winds? "That ain't wind, son, thats a light breeze. Back in my day...." Lemme tell ya, the fact that nobody was phased when this happened for several days in a row floored me. Watching people walk out of a store, the wind ripping large stuff out of their cart as they watch, shrug and just keep walking to their car is madness. |

...back in '09 was on the 3 flags tour( Start in Mex-USA-Finish in CAN) over labor day wk end....the wind was so bad up in your area - Goldwings blew over when sitting on their center stands(...it takes 2 to pick 'em up!)...just had bad winds here in SoCal - I guess winter has finally arrived...be careful if you go out riding in it...lane changes can happen automatically! |

Simply tell EBR (in a short, CONCISE email) what you are looking for in an ECM. Include your environment, riding style, current mods, and riding "season" - meaning if you ride year round, tell them. When I ordered the ECM for my '06 Uly, I told them I didn't want every last HP. I wanted durability, all-weather happiness with a minimum of snorting and sneezing, a smooth power curve, and a map that would make the bike as happy as possible, for as long as possible, with a stock exhaust and a K&N filter. I also mentioned I live in Maryland and ride from near sea-level up to about 2000 ft on a regular basis. I've been tickled pink with the way the bike runs. I'll bet money that EBR just pulled an ECM off the shelf and shipped it to you... |

Levor Well I dont thin k I have any relatives there now, but have many thorough out the state. I'm sure I'll be there next summer to go backpacking in the wind rivers. A couple of suggested rides. No twisties but next summer ride over to ShoShoni, go to the yellowstone drug co. Pretty good burgers, and killer shakes, they serve, 10's of thousands a yr. not bad for a town of 5,000. Also ride us-20 up to cooke city Mt. thats about a 300 mi ride. stay the night , or longer, your only about 5 mi from yellowstone park from there. Then ride us 212 to redlodge. its 66 miles of twisties, its also known as the beartooth highway, and some call it the most buetifull highway drive. there is also a bike festival that happens in redlodge every summer, contact the harly dealership there they can tell you about it. They welcome all bikes. also ride south of riverton some time, theres a tiny town called Hudson, has a killer steak house. feel free to pm me and I'll look up names. Have fun, ride carefull. |

Boney - if they did, that's fine with me. Just goes to show they know how to program an ECM for an 06 Ulysses. I don't have to have "custom" for custom's sake...I just want it to work. And boy, does it work! |
