My dealer is offering me an ESP for my bike. It is through HD, so I presume it is a reputable product. The price seems good, right around a grand for an additional 3 years of coverage. Just wondering if anyone else can share their experience with an HD ESP, or any other comments to help with my decision. It seem that one more stator failure would pretty much pay for the ESP. |

Do a search on here, there are many threads discussing it with a wide range of opinions on it. I had it in the past and they screwed me over and wasted my money. Also, if you get it, and the stator fails, you are still stuck paying deductibles and you will have another 09 stator put in. |

Having been a service manager for h-d the last eighteen years, I've seen ESP's work. They are a good value, but only if you ride a lot, other wise put your money in a saving account or buy precious metals. And if you do get an ESP, purchase the tire warranty also. It's usually only and extra $100.00. If your stator or anything else fails a second time, you do not have to pay the deductable. Just my two cents |

I just purchased an extra 3 years; I love this bike and at 56 years old I most likely won't be purchasing another sport bike. I also have a great dealer, they just put in a 08 stator under the original warranty with no hassle. They have performed other work, again done quickly with no issues. Because of my good experience I decided to have all my future work done by them, with that said, they are expensive and a warranty should take some of the sting out of the price. I think if you are keeping the bike long term and have a decent dealer buying the ESP is the right choice. |
