It looks like it has a lot of design cues from the 1125/1190 rotax motor. The engine is a stress member, and they went to a chain driven cam shaft. First I saw the KTM 1190 RC8 w/it's underslung muffler. Then saw the Japanese sport bikes lowering and shortening their mufflers. Ducati lowered and shortened the muffler on the Multi 1200 and now a completely underslung muffler on the 1199. Makes me smile that some old guy in Wisconsin 'might' have known what he was doing all along... After a Dyno session (which I only use for 'before and after' comparisons) when I'd fitted a PC V to my 1198 it was putting out 170rwhp and 100ft/lb.
