My 1125r is up for a complete detail and cleaning. I would like to know what is the best product to use. Also should I use my buffer or by hand. I know what my Busa likes but I understand the Buell is different Than You |

Good question... I just washed my bike yesterday and was trying to get the small swirls and scuffs out... I tried a couple different small buffing pads on my drill with a few different waxes but none worked well and just seemed to dull the finish... I ended up just using the Honda spray polish and a microfiber towel and got it shinny again but still have the swirls and scuffs... |

I use Novus plastic polish.I have removed some big scuffs and scratches with it.I follow that with Honda spray polish. |

Hate to be a heretic, but I use the HD scratch remover, and it works great. Hand application only. My experience is that, regardless what product you're using, power tools are too fast for this plastic. |

I've tried a few things. For scratch removal I use the Novus products by hand. To remove that haze I found S100 detailer to be very good. Meguairs spray and shine is okay but if you have any overspray it will be hard later to remove. I tried regular old Turtle Wax...not too impressed but better than nothing. |

I use the Novus kit I found on ebay. It has 3 parts. Get the small kit as it dries out. I use on the buell, my oakleys, car paint. pretty much anything poly. |

I started using Plexus shortly after I bought the bike and it keeps the plastics shiny and slick. I haven't had to do any scratch removal since I started using it. Hmmm... I wonder if it works on wives? |

These do seem to scratch up pretty easily, compared to the plastics on my Triumph Sprint |

Mrbuell - my experience with the Novus stuff is that you will never get it to look like glass like a fresh factory part - doubt much out there will. However I took a badly rashed up fairing and got it pretty close. You'd have to look at in direct sunlight before you notice swirl marks. I used a drill with a sewn cotton wheel and very light pressure. The plastic is pretty soft so if you strong arm it or stay in one spot to long all you do is heat the plastic up and you'll never get it past the haze phase. |
