So 4 weeks ago I dropped off my 09 1125R for warranty work. The stator was suspect so not taking a chance on voiding warranty I removed my Erik Buell Racing Race ECM, and replaced with stock. This Saturday I am going to be picking up the bike. The plan is to drive the bike around the corner from the dealer and installing the race ecm. My question is should I still do the whole procedure to reinstall the ecm (bat disconnect, idle for 10 min, ect....) and will the race ecm have to "relearn" again or will it be the same as it was when I removed it? |

Just remove the pod, disconnect the old one, pop in the Race ECM, reassemble. No need for the other steps. |

Not patient enough to wait till you get home?? I think it would be safer to do this in your garage or driveway than on the side of the road... |

Must mean you REALLY don't like the OEM ECM! |

After being spoiled with the Erik Buell Racing Race ECM for my APH exhaust vs. stock set up I can't ride stock no more. I missed too many good weekends of riding so the few miles that are left in this season I want the bike to be the best it can. Jaimec, this will be done in a mall parking lot so don't worry about a fellow "Bueller" getting smeared on the side of the road. |
