Can anybody share the removal/install procedures for the Rotor? I have followed the procedures listed here to get the stator out, but want to take to rotor out so I can install a new one. I just want to make sure I don't miss anything.
Thanks in advance!

if the stator is already out then all you need to do is:

1) put front piston to TDC

2) lock crankshaft with crank shaft locking tool, available at Erik Buell Racing 60.00

3) be sure you have locked crankshaft

3) turn nut with 32mm deep well socket that holds rotor couterclockwise

4) replacement is the reversal, use locktight, blue is what i used, tighten to 300 foot pounds

hope this helps

how do you put the front piston at TDC (without taking out the spark plugs) ? The manual is not all that clear on how to do this.

Remove the stator cover puck and rotate the crankshaft via the nut inside.

Pull the spark plug and insert something like a stiff wire or whatever and watch it go up and down as you rotate the engine. You also can look at cam shaft position but that is a bit more difficult

You will also need some to make some alignment guides using long all thread stock where the cover bolts will go. This will keep you from fighting the magnet, nicking the stator, bad outcome....

front spark plug removal is pita without rotating the engine or removing the frame. that's why I ask whether the spark plugs infact need to be removed to move the front piston to TDC.

It looks like it can be done in about 30 seconds, even while holding a camera in one hand, without rotating the motor.

Froggy,

Yes, taking out the front plugs is not bad at all. But inserting the plug coil boot is.
