I'm not talking tires or breaks. I'm talking towing stators. instrument cluster. Batteries. Etc, etc. |

how about brakes? 2008 1125R $12.00 - quart of HD oil for topping it off - 7k miles (I bought the bike with 2400 on it, so I avoided the 1st service) only $ had been 1 rear tire, 2 spare tires, a few mods, track stands, spare oil and filters... (Message edited by sprintst on September 14, 2011) |

Two 1125's, 18,000 miles on one, 16,000 on the other. So far I have spent $824 in scheduled maintenance. I haven't paid a dime for any warranty work, which has been nothing major anyway. Given that everyone is counting routine service as free, my total is $0 then. (Message edited by froggy on September 14, 2011) |

If you don't count the repairs do to crashing, then my 1125R has cost me gas, oil, 3 cases of beer and 4 dozen doughnuts for the service department as thanks for good service and warranty coverage. (Message edited by Rodrob on September 14, 2011) |

Just gas and oil and oil filters to date. Oh and $180 in gas for the truck to tow it in for warranty work. New stator and clutch weep were under warranty. Once my warranty is up I too fear I won't be able to afford to keep her, but nobody else will want her either, so I'll be stuck with a really nice white paperweight. |

28,000 on an 05 XB9X (or, as Froggy would say, an obsolete design) 2 spark plugs.. $5 1 headlight bulb... $15 2 tail light bulbs... $6 I broke an exhaust stud as well, but that was likely my fault for not torqueing the front hanger bolt when I pulled the exhaust to paint it... it got lost, and as result I broke a stud before I noticed. Everything else I did was optional, or as a result of something I did wrong. One hell of a good bike! |

Warranty as well, 1125r. 3 tows at $70 each 3x $90 each for diagnostic work on electrical and suspension parts. steering head bearings were loose and air/fuel sensor? needed reset as bike wouldnt start. 1x $90 for bleeding clutch since it was inoperative. So about 500 out of pocket but saved likely 5k due to warranty. Stator, VR, Rear shock, steering head, cali can, clutch |

Other than consumables ~500 in parts & ~200 towing due to a low side that was my fault. Not counting the clutch, blinkers, and cluster replaced under warranty. |

How are all you guys getting free maintenance? I didn't count consumables in mine, it's just a bit of oil, a couple of filters, a LOT of gas and a few tires (more than a few) but I'd get that cost with any bike.. I'd be scared if I added the overall cost of ownership of any performance vehicle...so I don't LOL Denial isn't just a river in Egypt you know.. |

$0 other than performance and suspension mods, oil, filters. Tires have been the largest expense but always are. |

I do my own maintenance, including mounting my own tires. So out of pocket costs are purely consumables. I assumed that if brakes were out, then oil and primary fluid certainly were as well. I included sparkplugs in my cost though... I replaced them at 20k miles out of guilt. They looked and worked fine. |

About $50 for a pair of 2010 indicators to replace the LED ones on my 2008 R - but that was my personal choice. 2010 CR - zero |

Given that everyone is counting routine service as free, my total is $0 then. I got the impression from the original poster that he wasnt counting consumables. Reep I totally agree. My XB9 was an amazing machine as well. 27K miles and total expense for that was just $35 for clutch cable. Everything else was just cause I wanted it. Sometimes I question why I sold it. I love my 1125 so much the XB9 just sat 99% of the time. I couldnt let that happen so I found it a new happy home. Now it gets ridden and I still get to see it daily because its right across the street. |

I love this bike and can't imagine riding anything else except maybe an 1190. But damn!!! Over $8000.00 in 18 months and all I do is ride 20 miles back and forth to work 4 times a week is just dum. Yes the $8k was covered but warrenties don't last for ever, And I want another!!! I would get rid of it for the same bike with another 5 or 7 year Warrenty but I don't think there are any left. I guess you can't turn a hoe into a house wife. When is that street version coming out erick??? I need a new bike!!! |

And for the record I'm only asking for the total cost of Warrenty work or non Warrenty but Not consumables!!!! Let me try this again. How much is your bike breaking down??? The total cost??? Mines is like 4 VR's 3 stators 1 IC 1 fuel pump And all that labor Yes it was covered/Warrenty/free/+<$8000.00 And I love and will continue to drink Buellaide for as long as possible |
