08 1125R. I can say it has cost zip, nada, nothing. All cost have been related to track 'incidents', upgrades or basic preventative maintenance. |

09 CR I have 10km's on it since I bought it. I had a few warranty issues that are still being dealt with. Mostly drivabillity issues and the instrument cluster needs to be changed. It will be in next week. Other than that just tires and oil changes. I love this bike. |

Considering you could fix the stator issue for $1000 more or less for ever by going to an 08 set up after warranty is finished. I always ask myself could I replace this bike for what I could repair it for usually the answer is no so I keep em. |

09 CR. $3k in parts after my Bro wrecked it on Palomar, considering the bike barrel rolled 3x into a river bed of rocks, it should have been totaled. 1 clutch fix on the 09 motor, warranty covered. 1 new 2010 motor (made a weird noise, i took it in and the dealer dyno'd it and blew the motor.(about $9k(warranty covered)) A lot of tires, but that's my fault, haha. The bike has been great, total cost for parts that were defective from the factory =$0. |

Geforce, sorry have to call BS on yours. Any bike that's been ridden has costs to maintain. That would be all services (including 5, 10, 15, 20K, etc.), even if you do them yourself. I just bought a case of oil (12 qts) that cost me $90. That certainly would be an expense. Then there was the cost of the plugs and oil filter. Anyhow you get my point. And so to stay on track... 09 CR, cost? I don't keep track of costs like that, I just do the service. However, I have had two stators replaced under warranty. However, next month that cost belongs to me...Yikes! Wayne |

How do you know if he's done anything to it? It might be sitting in his garage UNRIDDEN for the last year or so due to surgery. Just sayin. Mine hasn't been all that expensive either. 4 oil changes so far, 4 sets of tires I guess. (Message edited by d_adams on September 16, 2011) |

Let's see '08 R, and he said been a great bike for several years. Now I do know people who buy things and keep them in their original boxes, but somehow I don't think that is the case here, but would that be kind of cool. Buy a bike still crated and store it away for a few years... oh wait, Honda has done that a few time selling bikes that are two or three years old still in the crate (think 650GL Silverwing, and Pacific Coast). Wayne - maybe you should read OP's first post and that would put the string into context. We are NOT talking about regular maintenance items or gas. Otherwise, you get to bust my balls, too. |

I've owned my 08 R since December 07 and its cost me $1,300. I had an engine failure at 6k miles when out of warranty by 6 months but luckily I got HD to pay for the parts but I had to absorb the labor cost. Dealer still never told me the real cause of this failure, must have been a defect in my valve train. If that never happened it would have cost me $0 so far since all my minor issues that almost all early 08's had was under warranty. |

Oil changes and tires. I change oil more than required. One set of rear brake pads and a rotor. Hmmmm, come to think of it, actually, none of the parts have cost me anything. As I recall, I got a $600 buck or so incentive when I bought the 08 that I turned into spare parts, manuals, rotors, plugs, etc. |

2008R 21,000 km - Other than regular maintenance and service (and the fiddly bits I bought for myself - ECM, seat, pegs, handlebar kit, etc); $0. Two warranty issues - The rear signal lights; and the ignition switch wires came apart and were replaced under warranty It's been a great bike. Only issue I had was a dead battery when I accidentally left my park lights on - I hate that feature, and it's grumpy starting on cold mornings (near freezing). |
