I should have posted this here... I have a MY09 1125R with more than 4000 km with no signs of stator issues. A few days ago I called the HD service to check for my bike's recalls status and they said that they've the new stator kit ready in the shop so I can do the recall whenever I want. Should I do it? |

There is no "stator recall kit" but I suspect they have the optional "subharness" assembly waiting there for you.. It's your choice whether you get it fitted or not, but I'd clarify precisely what they think they have if I were you... And if they insist it's a stator recall kit then find another dealer... One who knows what they're talking about.. |

Their email says "stator recall kit". What do you mean by harness/subharness? |

The subharness was a customer optional "upgrade" offered by HD to all 09/10 1125s in an attempt to extend the life of the stator. It consists of a new subharness with a relay that is switched by the ECM to drop one leg of the stator in an attempt to keep it cool. e-mail them back and ask them for the Product Program number (if it's 0507 then that's the harness) |
