R1 or the E.B.R 1190 would be the prime choice for me. Maybe even the KTM 1190 RC8. They are all beautiful bikes that get great reviews. |

For me the not yet to be released MV Agusta Brutale 750. It would be a perfect balance of power and beauty. |

1190RS. Stood it up at NJMP (with permission!) and my first reaction was "where's the rest of it??", followed by amazement at not only how narrow it was, but how comfortable. I'm a knuckledragging 6'4" guy with 37" arms, and this thing fit just right. And I have it on fairly good authority that it's just 'stupid-fast'...but while they're very good, the headlights are only good to about...160, was it? good times last weekend |

@ Georgehitch17 the 848Evo is geared way different. For highway commuting under 75mph I use 5th gear or it feels like the bike lugs. 80mph and above 6th gear and you get around 7500 rpm and the bike feels like it is turbo charged has a rush of power that doesn't stop until redline. I am not disappointed at all by the 848 but could it replace my 1125? The jury is still out. |

RSV4 S1000R MV Agusta Though since I always have a passenger would have to have some where for her to sit. Unless I teach her how to ride |

It would have to be a twin. Erik Buell Racing 1190,KTM or Ducati. |

Rex if that Enfield is yours and the forks have the same internals as the drum brake models, the BMW R100 internals fit with very little modification. I've done this on my '47 JAP/Enfield race bike and you get superb front suspension. Have to agree with YOUP as well. The BMW HP Sport is a very fine motorcycle. It's built with quality throughout. Before I bought my 1198 Duc, I put in a lot of miles on a borrowed Beemer and was very tempted by one. The Duc's power corrupted my wallet though |

KTM 1190 RC8 or Erik Buell Racing 1190 RS (the consumer version depending on price) I could never go back to a 600cc 4 cyl. Those are now considered "girl's bikes". |

Crowley, The 1198 Duc is a very nice motorcycle, beautiful and about as fast as it gets with "affordable" two cylinders. But if you would want to cruise through the Alps to the south of France (+-800 miles from here) you can really forget it. Where that is possible with my 1125CR and with an HP2 Sport. I want a (very) sporty two cylinder bike that can do a trackday but that also allows me to ride for 500 miles in a day without a broken back or shattered wrists. You're absolutely correct about that (although the 1198 is a BIT more comfortable than it looks or I even expected) but I've always been a bit of a masochist I once rode a MK1 Guzzi LeMans to Chamonix with full mountaineering kit (incl skis) to guide some clients on the Haute route (Chamonix to Zermatt) in the middle of winter. I wouldn't do that again - I was alot younger and a lot more stupid Having said that, I can ride my 1125R all day in supreme comfort |

1125r in stock trim is a very comfortable bike, indeed. I know some get insulted about it being called a "sport touring" bike, but that's really what the stock set up is about. Low pegs, rider positioned high and upright, with high, wide bars instead of traditional clip-ons. It's a very comfortable ergonomic. |

I just sold my Jag so I am looking for an additional stablemate for the 1125R and the ZZR1100, I'm looking at either a custom streetfighter "project" or a chop "project". Don't see me replacing the Buell anytime soon, in fact next summer I plan to use my bonus to pay for the Uly I've always wanted to replace the ZZR so hopefully I'll have the 1125R, Uly and a chop. I am currently watching a cut down GSXR1100 that looks good as the basis for a cafe racer type streetfighter... For use over winter. |

I love my 1125r, but if when it comes time, the Erik Buell Racing 1190 would be first consideration, 2nd would be the MV Agusta F3. |

As far as a 600 being a "girls bike", a modern 600 supersport is still way more capable than any of us, and they are way faster than you will ever need on the street. There really is nothing better for trackday fun. I agree with Jdugger (I KNOW) about the 1125 being "toury". By all rights it should be arguably the best sporty streetbike out there. All it needs is better cooling and a solution to the electrical system. I have been a Duc Monster fan for years but honestly I find myself increasingly intrigued with the XB Lightnings. It is unfortunate that the damned things seem to command a higher price than used 1125s. |

I find myself increasingly intrigued with the XB Lightnings Id trade my 1125R in a second for a nice XB12STT. A good back road blaster without the height of the Ully. |

I bought a 2011 Triumph Daytona 675. Very nice and comfortable. Miss the torque of the 1125 but I just have to adjust the way I ride when it's "spirited" riding. 1125CR is for sale in the classifieds. Love the Buells (have owned 4) and still support Erik Buell Racing but I can't stand the lack of parts availability or dealer support anymore. Getting rid of my HD Buell. I will buy an Erik Buell Racing bike when he is mass producing them like the older Buells and they are affordable. |

'11 675 was on my short list when I bought the 848 Evo, while the stator on my 1125 was being repaired. I went with the Duc. Both bikes now make me smile every time I get on them, why think of replacement just have two bikes (Message edited by 03fatboy on September 08, 2011) |

I'm actually keeping my 1125R, but I've got 2 other bikes for sale right now (shows you what I think about the 1125R): 2007 MV Agusta F4 1000R ($10,500) 2005 XB9SX Lightning ($4,500) My 1125R is just the best on the road and only a few seconds behind the MV on the track:

This is a great thread with valid considerations I have to agree with Jdugger and his reasoning as they echo thoughts I've had the past few weeks., ...buy a 2007 Honda CBR600RR, already track prepped. It's no Buell, that's for sure. But what it's missing in character, in power, and especially in corner grunt it makes up in support knowledge around the track about the bike, and the amount of rider skill it takes to keep that thing wound out and maintain the corner speed so you aren't killed on drive, among other things. I'll still sprint race the Buell for sure, but endurance racing our 2003 Honda 600 has taught me I have a lot to learn about riding well. So, I thought I'd get my own vanilla, slow, typical UJM and learn how to really ride. And, then, take those skills to my next race on the Buell... It's a whole different animal, but pretty dang cool at the same time. It doesn't have the cache of the european bikes cited above, but will probably do more for my skills as a rider than any of those choices would... and, I can probably afford to toss it down the track. |
