Had a great time last night at the drags! Local charity event held to raise money for a local rider who was killed a few months ago's daughter. I don't have my time slips with me here at work but I prob did close to 15 runs total.. ended up red lighting on round 3 of eliminations... Had a fun time and supported a good cause! Best et was a 10.65X Bent MPH was a 131.XX Best 60 ft was a 1.7X |

10.65 secs is a darn good time! Congrats. What kind of elevation is your local track at? Any mods done to your bike? |

Bike has Erik Buell Racing ecu, FME muffler, K&N air filter... Track was Speedworld in Suprise AZ so around 1200 feet and the temps were around 100 deg F. It was a great time and it was near impossible to keep the front tire down thur 1st/2nd gears... |

do a good burnout, or skip the water and just do a couple spins to clean the rear tire? |

Good form, nice numbers...please get some leathers. The waterbox is best left to race rubber..two or three good dry hops is all you really need. |

YEA, I WENT AROUND THE WATER, NO BURN OUT JUST A LITTLE CLEAN THE TIRE SPIN. I HAVE LEATHERS BUT DIDN'T WEAR THEM OUT FOR THIS AS I HAD TO RIDE AN HOUR EACH WAY TO AND FROM THE TRACH AND HAD A BACKPACH FULL OF OTHER CRAP WITH ME... THIS WAS A CHARITY EVENT SO THEY HAD SPECIAL RULE EXCEPTIONS FOR THE NIGHT INCLUDING NOT NEEDING LEATHERS OR A LANYARD KILL SWITCH |

> please get some leathers. Those look like Alpine Stars boots, too. I'll share a warning about where your foot is in that picture I have from personal experience. My technique for a launch (and I *suck* at starts, so take this with a grain of salt) is to run the motor up to about 6k and when the flag drop start to feather the clutch while feeding in throttle to keep the motor closer to 8k until the clutch is released. Well, sitting there doing this for the few seconds before the flag drops means the exhaust coming out of the pipe is VERY HOT. I've learned the hard way to keep that rider's right boot ON THE PEG, because I literally melted the whole boot and got a nasty case of hot foot going into turn one at Cresson last year! The worst, though, is there's a little vent on those Alpine stars boots right at the heel. So, I managed to melt a blister onto my skin just above the heel below the ankle in the tender area on my foot! Woooo that hurt like a mutha trying to knock out a race with a hot foot! OUCH! It's pretty funny now, but if you look at my Alpine Stars boots from that race, they look like something Salvador Dalí would have made, not Alpine Stars -- all molten down the inside. So, be careful! It's not just crashing on these things that can get you hurt. |

LOL, I have toasted my ankle/foot a few time fooling around on the street with normal skate shoes on so I know what your saying... This isn't a normal enough thing for me that I'm worried about melting my boot but thanks for the heads up! |
