When you crash and the pods dont get the job done. Ulysses frame pucks work on our bikes |

The pods are pretty godd, but if the bike tips over then the frame has been known to come in contact with the ground. The pucks will definately help provide some additional protection in that area.. |

Mixed bag. I've tossed mine a couple of times now, and the pods or bodywork have always done a good job of protecting the frame. The problem with the pucks, and really frame sliders in general, is they tend to grab things as the bike slides, sometimes flipping the bike, sometimes making the damage worse. Each crash is different, and what helps a bike come out relatively unscathed in one crash may cause significant damage in another... |

frame pucks don't work IMO - as they do not absorb the impact they just transfer the energy to the frame. CF frame protectors and crash bobins are the way to go. |

J nailed it. things that protrude tend to be grabby. sometimes they slide as intended sometimes they don't and when they don't slide it gets ugly. |

> things that protrude tend to be grabby. The funny thing is, I tend to be grabby about things that protrude. (.)(.) |

Frame pucks saved my old xb's frame twice. Once in an easy slide, and the other time being T-boned by a pickup. Granted, the rest of the bike (forks and swingarm) were screwed, but the frame looked good. |

I had to replace them afterward the slide, the frame looked fine. I did not look under them after the bike was totalled. I'll see if i can dig up some pics from the big crash and let you guys see what it did do. |
