okay so i think i may have made it mad! so i was adjusting my fuel maps.... only the fuel maps. no it won't start. it has spark, it turns over, it's not getting fuel. i went back to the back up of my maps and got nothing. using the software i can cycle the injectors, spark plugs, fans, fuel pump. when i cycle key on the fuel pump is not running. when i cycle the pump using the software the bike will start but dies within a few seconds. i pulled the connector off of the fuel pressure sensor and i am getting 5V on the one pin and when i jump to the other two i get fans and iac movement on one of them and nothing on the other. the 'other' pin i would believe is the pin that signals the fuel pump. i've got the books and so far i've not been successful tracking this down. two questions: wtf did i do? and does anyone have an unmolested copy of the bue2d242 race 255 eeprom data? |

ok soooo i found out i did it wrong used the wrong software which apparently throws things out of whack when you load them back.... so got tunerpro and back up of the eeprom got it loaded and now it sounds right when i cycle the key on however. i now have theft error reading across the cluster. did some research and talked to one of our geniuses and it would seem that normally the theft error in this case could be caused by dead/low battery. battery has been on automatic charger since yesterday when i started this whole thing and still theft error. load tested battery with old school heater type tester showed a bit over charged at first then after two 10 sec cycles it's holding 11.8v and showing 400a capacity... other thoughts? |

Make sure that 20 pin connector that is close to your ECM is plugged in tight. |

that is close to or is the ecm connector itself? i pulled waited and reseated both ecm connectors last night to no avail. i am out of warranty and really can't afford a trip to HD... |

Have a quick look at this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/566210.html The default PIN is 0000, it's worth seeing if you can get into the security settings and make sure it's off. I'm guessing you don't have a spare ECM anywhere? Just out of interest the backup of your ECM settings - was that definately YOUR backup (i.e. not one from someone else's bike). Obvious things (which you have no doubt checked) - Clutch state indicator on IC (make sure the clutch switch state changes) Bike in Neutral, Sidestand up (just in case the backup isn't from a US bike)..Do a quick check of the TPS settings too (just in case). A good voltage reading on a static battery (no load) is ~12.8V IIRC Personally - i'd look at the theft settings, then the TPS, then battery... Good luck.. |

Jules read that thread and the other one last night. the cluster is non responsive to mode or toggle inputs. when i get home i am going to play with it some more. yes back up was mine. |

Ah... that certainly does complicate things... Seems to imply a battery issue... but that'd be an unfortunate coincidence. It may be worth disconnecting the battery for 30 mins and then reconnecting it to see if that makes any difference (Message edited by Jules on August 30, 2011) |

Boogie: The 20 pin connector is a stand alone connector. It's located right behind the ECM mounting point, a little tucked in. If that connector is not connected, you won't be able to start the bike and "Theft Error" will be displayed on the IC. |

A reflash might be free if you were lucky. A reflash takes moments, might be $40.00. |
