Well I was very fortunate this morning. I had a very impatient woman riding my tail in her Kneesan Uglymobile in heavy traffic on I-271. I was in the fast lane with nowhere to go and she went in the middle lane then dove in front of me and took up almost all of the gap between the car I was behind. Shortly thereafter she cut back in the left lane and I decided to express my disapproval of her tactics by diving hard in front of her then taking off. Unfortunately my maneuver was perfectly timed for a cop shooting radar in the median. He pulled me over and asked what I was doing. I told him the truth and then he asked for my license. He told me that he was also a rider and a member of the motorcycle force. He asked about previous violations and I told him that I was clean for about five years. He checked my record and came back without a ticket! He lectured me a bit, which I was glad to take as he clocked me at 22 MPH over the limit. I need to learn how to stop retaliating. My blood just boils when people drive their cages like idiots and put bikers at risk! | ||

phew! buy a lotto ticket. Nowadays tickets=$ so you rarely get off with just a warning! Congrats. I also have a hard time not letting it get to me. I need to leave a bit earlier getting from A-B so it's not compounded by traffic delaying me. Minor tangent - but the guy willing to understand the circumstances and let you off, is probably the guy helping someone change their tire on the side of the road. I always like seeing that - gives back a bit of the lost faith in "protect and serve". Wish more were like that. | ||

drivers like that frequently engage in bad behavior. Karma sucks, it is only a matter of time until she will get her's. (Message edited by dannybuell on August 26, 2011) | ||

Good for the getting off but messing with cars is a worthless and potentially deadly past time. Just let it go and stay out of their way. Even a 16 yo 90lb girl in a Smart Car can kill you very dead. WWJD? | ||

where on 271 were you? or what city i should say. there have been alot more cops on 271 recently and like said there not giving as many warnings any more... | ||

I've been...."slowed down" and told "it's about time to get into a lane" (lane splitting with too much speed)...by cops and their loud speakers, both cars and bikes..several times over the years. I'd say that counts as "good cops".. Mike | ||

I was just South of Exit 26 where I-480 separates from I-271. And I can't argue with Du's comments. Road rage is probably the toughest area for me to follow WWJD. I wonder if the Pharisees ever handed out a ticket to a man on a Donkey? | ||
