So sad. There have been too many riders dying around here lately. http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news%2Flocal&id=8318534 (Message edited by pmjolly on August 25, 2011) |

It is unfortunate. I was born and raised there in Houston. Now I live in Cali. But why does the media always assume by saying " the bike was speeding down the road and weaving in and out of traffic"? But it s tragic. But if the bike rear ended the car why does the front of the bike appear ok minus the flat tire but the rear subsection is missing? |

The front of the bike looks fine... The tire doesn't appear flat when you look at what's hidden by the curb. The "flat" goes all the way to the rim of the wheel. A flat...wouldn't be that "flat" with the tire still on the wheel..! Looks more like a right side, "side swipe", being that the left side pod, and front end look fine. Mike |

Almost looks like the bike got rear ended and ripped the subframe off the bike... makes you wonder why the car driver took off? |

Sad to see it... also looks more like a side swipe or rear end than he hit the back of some sedan. |

Man, that's close to home. Only a few miles from the house. |

"Investigators say the car left the scene for unknown reasons. " I can guess the reason: drunk, high or deliberate, all of the above or some combination. That said, I agree with others' observations here - it looks like the rear sustained the damage; more like he was rear ended rather than rear ending someone. This isn't that far from where I live. Very sad. |

Im no detective or anything but after looking at that pic wouldnt you think he was rear ended? Also the comments the idiots make. makes you want to slap the hell out of some of them. people have no respect or even common courtesy. Prayers go out to this kid his family and friends. |
