With great trepidation, and 16k miles in 2 years I've had my 1125r, I traded my baby in for a new 2010 Aprilia RSV4R.

It will act as a stand-in for the 1190 until mass production starts.

I will surely miss my baby, but I'll try to satisfy my need for V-twin torque and sheer power with the new APE.

Counting down the days until Erik Buell Racing releases the bike for the masses. I will surely be one of the first to order when they become available.

Congrats!

That bike is at the top of my list of possible replacement for the 1125R.

But then again, I may get the CBR1000RR for reliability and comfort. Or the Cross Plane R1. The sound of the Cross Plane engine is exactly like a V4!

Today's sportbikes are just uncomfortable compared to the Buells. The Italian sportbikes are THE most uncomfortable of all. They always make them into racks! Ducati is the worst offender.

1198 wasn't too off from the 1125r to me as far as comfort.

I don't know how comfortable the new Tuono is, but that looks to me like the better option to replace the 1125. Apparently they didn't detune the motor much like most naked versions are. The designer said the Tuono accelerates faster than the RSV4. Gearing I think...

Been thinking of the exact same trade in ALOT lately... ape dealer is about 25 miles away...
not 65-70 for a Buell dealer...
if only it didn't cost $18K after dealer prep and taxes (stupid Canadian taxes and $1K price increase just 'cause we're Canadian).
Would consider buying the the US, but all US dealers I've contacted refuse to sell new bikes to Canadians due to contracts with Aprilia. *sigh*

Rogue, that's why my next bike will be an Adventure Touring one. I want hard bags, upright seating (ie lightning) and good handling.

Here's the breakdown.

I got a price on the trade 4500.

Bike was priced at 13995.

With trade total was under 10k. I was satisfied with the final number. Engine was replaced by APE, with a Factory engine. So it has the slide out gearbox. Also, got the ECU map for the Factory and the Race ECU with the Aftermarket Maps.

Riding impressions

The APE definitely has a ton of power and it pulls like a freight train. It's does not have nearly the torque of the 1125r. But the power rush is insane. It feels like it will never stop.

From a MPG standpoint, we should we should never complain about the 1125r ever again. I'm averaging around 20 mpg!

Additionally, we should never complain about heat. That thing burns at an average of about 215 to 220 degrees standing in traffic!

Overall, because I'm still breaking it in, I am impressed so far.

But you can only use premium gas, it's hotter than a scalded pot of water at a standstill, and it sucks up fuel, like a Hummer.
