And pulled the stator cover to have a look see. It's an '09 R. This is the second stator with harness upgrade everything else original, the bike has 17,400 miles. front side still in cover closer view rotor rear of stator close up of the coating, slight cracking   Cataract2 Posted on Monday, August 22, 2011 - 08:29 am:        Well shoot, no wonder it has heat issues. That rotor wouldn't allow any oil to get in or heat to escape. WTF HD? I can't tell from the pics... Has the silicone sealer gunk been removed from the stator cover? That grey stuff is had to get out. But yes I did scrap it all out, well the best I could anyways. There was some I think it was orange or something I am assuming was from the replacement for the original stator the dealer replaced. And I did put some rtv black back in to that spot, but just enough to hold the wires. My dremal is broke or I would have grinder down the ridges that is under the silicon.
