just wondering if anyone has seen a crash cage that would be strong enough to mount a sidecar to?

I'd look into this, but I'm busy working on my trike conversion.

hahaha...this idea is weed free! really though, I have an 1125r that I have put maybe 500 miles on all summer. That is due to me now having a dog that I prefer to take everywhere I go. 65 pound black labs don't sit to well on the seat. So instead of bailing on a motorcycle that I have all the kinks worked out of and that I already enjoy. Why not make it work for me. I would like to put a uly tail on it and fashion a sidecar for it. I have calmed down my riding style a lot recently. But how crazy would the ride be in an 1125r sidecar! I picture it being something of this sort http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrUjiCudCz0

While this would be a neat concept. It's kinda like doing all the work to turbocharge a bike... lots of work.

If you need to ride with your dog that much then keep your bike and buy a Ural. I've thought about doing that myself.

also a wonderful idea....but the cost of a ural is too much to buy a second bike and continue to own a bike i wont ride.

I just asked if anyone knew of a crash cage that would be structurally sound enough to mount a sidecar too.

Is there even a crash cage made for the 1125?

There were a couple on the XB but they tied into the engine mount - bad choice in a tip-over.

A while back I remember a company was going to make a crash cage for our bikes, but it didn't work out. So as far as I know there are no crash cages for our bikes. So no, there are no crash cages strong enough to mount a side car to.

Hey get a Ventura pack mount at ventura.com I am not sure if they have a Pack Mount for your Bike but they do have one for the XBSS, then get a Beast Rider at Beastrider.com and you should be able to get your Dog to ride in it. I am doing this to my XBSS. I have a Ural but it does not get good Gas Milage.
