Hey guys the Norwalk raceway drag strip is having amatuer night for bikes. I've never drag raced before ever!! I've had a 1125 for three years now so I'm comfortable on the bike I've just never done this. Anyway do you guys have some helpful tips as far as tire pressure, strapping the forks down, body position, a good rpm to launch at, etc. I'm assuming I will have to slip the hell out of this clutch with all the low end torque. Any words of wisdom are appreciated!! Have a nice day everyone! |

go here and ask your question: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/158 664/3600.html?1313579431 ...it's the Buell Drag racers forum...hopefully someone will help you back in the 60s and 70s used to race my H1 at Thompson - started in second gear - rolled thru "pre stage" light - but just broke the "staged" light beam with the front wheel - this way you can anticipate the lights and have a tiny advantage against red lighting...check for safety gear requirements..often you'll need full leathers...might want to take an extra drive belt... good luck |

Lower tire pressure to about 25-28,strap the front is easy as you can run a strap through the hollow front axle and up over the frame.Ran mid 10's on ours here with just a Erik Buell Racing tune in it. |

I would say that if you're just going for fun, no need to strap it. Go Learn Have Fun |

Run 2 R/T... -.184 60'... 1.995 330... 4.854 1/8... 7.141 MPH... 108.06 1000... 9.128 1/4... 10.839 MPH... 135.99 I had a blast and now Im hooked. My bike is a 2009 25R with fmf apex slip-on and eebbrr race ecm. I didnt strap the front because I've never done it but I will for sure on Friday! What is this bike capable of on a stock swing arm??? I know its pending rider but I was just curious whats considered good? |
