...when she gets home from work. We had someplace to go and as I'm walking up to the car I notice her bumper is pressed up against my CR's radiator pod!!! Close inspection shows two small scuffs on the pod and a pissed off husband. I understand that parking space is tight but she doesn't need to park that close. Her excuse is, "I don't know how far up I am when I'm parking." Then how come you don't hit other cars in a parking lot when you pull into a spot? I hope somebody can share in my frustration. |

I used to be able to share your frustration, but then I changed and became passionate about people not things. So yes I understand how you feel and having felt like that in times past myself, I offer you hope for a sweeter day ahead. Not everyone will understand what I mean - yet. |

simple solution - get a tall orange parking cone to put between the bike and car, maybe have a small flag up through the center of it, when she taps the cone she'll still have half a foot or so of clearance and see the flag move yes, it sucks - but its just a bike. You probably wont have it until you die, your wife though.... |

I'm mostly over that, but here's what gets me. It bugs me when she can spend $60 on sandals and sunglasses but if I mention replacing the pod, which is $60, she gets mad. She also used to drive the car into my mod sled. Must be my fault. I need to put a stop sign in front of my stuff. |

hang a tennis or ping pong ball from the ceiling that touches the windshield when she is in the door. |

Rt That's exactly what my grandfather used to do and it worked great. Thanks for reminding me. I need to be proactive and not reactive. |

You should be emphatic that you get the pod and a little something on top... Or, just do it and say nothing... I am on wife #3, first 2 weren't worth the trouble. This one is the one tho. Secret is "we're BOTH in charge". First thing I told her 8 years ago was "Don't make me decide between you and my bike. I'll miss you." Z |

Tennis ball? Try a bowling ball...really gets respect. I park my bike on the walk way. It's the only place my Wife won't put her car. |

My dad used to have a hanging tennis ball in the garage, his truck was something like 3 shorter than the garage, so he would pull up till it was aligned with his mirror. |

+1 on the tennis ball. I told her that if she hits it then, she will be parking outside! |

now I don't know this as a fact, but I think it would be cheaper to replace the CR's radiator pod than get a divorce! |

Cyclonedon... my brother is finding out first-hand how expensive a divorce is... plus he'll have to pay alimony afterwards to boot. Nothing like kicking a guy when he's down, to be reminded on a monthly basis of the mistake you've made. In his case, it was a total mistake the girl is a total psycho ... really she has been locked up twice now that I know of, plus has had a history of all sorts of drug and alcohol abuse (self medication I'm sure). Anyhow, $60 is way cheaper! But that said, I'm with Xdot, it's just a thing. not a living human being. |

easy garage is for bikes only, she has a designated spot outside, besides its only a corolla. Put a sticker over it or drink yourself stupid and forget about it, not worth stressing over. |

You guys are too funny! I love my wife to death and I will get rid of everything else before I would even consider her. Last week she decided to trade paint with the side of the garage so I don't think she does this stuff on purpose. Frustration comes at first but it's all laughable stuff in the end. |

LOL - you're lucky that: a - she's hot. b - she's got a hot twin c - pod is inexpensive d - she only bumped it and didn't park on top of it. hehehe. get the tennis ball - when it bumps the windshield right in front of her face she needs to stop (give yourself an extra foot just in case...) I get the garage - she parks in the driveway. Our deal was - house is hers to style as she likes. paint your color, pick your furniture, do what you want. Garage and office are mine. I park her bike inside now since i'm nice, and she gets a set of shelves for garden stuffs. GL! |

lol.. mine hasn't hit the 1125R yet but she did park too close to the 99' M2 and scrape her bumper on the header... at first i was like WTF then when i looked closer i realized it didn't even leave a mark on the ceramic coat... scratched her bumper pretty good though! Then when i was deployed she backed out of the garage and took her side mirror off! She is pretty much the worst driver ever though! |

I've never quite understood this whole asking for permission to spend your money. I'm assuming you work and bring in some of the income. as long as you meet your half of the required bills, then spend money on what you want. My ex wife tried to control the money at first, she finally gave up as she walked out the door 5 years later. I figure if i make 100% of the household income and all the required items are paid for, then i'll spend the rest as i damn well pleased. i do understand some men feel the need to inform the signifigant other on the little things they buy, thats nice and helps when us guys go buck wild with spending money. A 60.00 pod, i would have bought another without even mentioning it. Oh and in SOME (VERY RARE) cases it is cheaper to punch off the wife than certain bike/car parts. My divorce was 303.50..... no alimony... I would have to consider shooting the ex wife before paying her a cent to live on... As for women drivers... until you have an ASIAN wife right off the boat, none of ya'll know what poor driving is lol. While stationed in Korea my ex wife successfully helped in replacing both mirrors, front drivers fender, and both f/r bumpers on my nearly new VW GTI. |

Hey wait a minute my wife is asian(filipino) and she is a pretty good driver. Now her twin sister ( ) is the complete opposite, scary to ride with. But I let it slide for them being hot, lol. Wait so is this thread about women drivers now! The real people in this world to blame are old people behind the wheel who should have their license taken away cause they are going to kill someone on the road. |

1. Buy her a jeep wrangler. Small, fits anywhere, and tough enough it won't matter how often she parks by braille. 2. Send me the twin. I'm single now, and already have the p.o.s. Wrangler I mention above |

Last week she decided to trade paint with the side of the garage so I don't think she does this stuff on purpose. Frustration comes at first but it's all laughable stuff in the end Been there done that. Wife has hit the pole in middle of the garage on her car and MINE! She's hit the bike just like she did with yours (pulled up too far forward). Somehow it always ends up being "my fault" for her driving mishaps in the garage! First reaction is anger and frustration. But I just keep my mouth shut and let the feelings subside before I say anything. She is already feeling bad so I let the situation cool. In the end, it's just paint or plastic. Good wives are much harder to replace and they are so very good for your well being! They are priceless. So keep a cool head, make sure to remember you still love her, and let her know that before you say, "Please be careful next time." Then, put a parking guide for her. |

Agree w/ Rogue. I also subscribe to SteveK's sentiment - my money my choice what i want to buy. As long as the bills are paid and mortgage is covered... buy a new pod and call it good. work on the sympathy angle and milk it for everything it's worth... hehehe. also seen some of the little bump stops you can get - bump into, or drive over the bump between two like so: /\___/\. but i still like the hanging tennis ball best. bumping into the windshield at eye level should be hard to not notice... |

Sorry guys, I love my wife absolutely and don't really have a dog in this fight. she doesn't drive. She also doesn't give my any grief about my bikes or my riding. SHE bought the Uly FOR me to ride and so she could go too sometimes. She refuses to ride Loretta so I removed the passenger pegs. I still think the OP's wife OWES HIM BIG-TIME for hitting his bike. That's me tho... Z |

Sorry 'bout your scuffed pod... ...high grit sand paper (I prefer 1200-2000) and some HD swirl and scratch remover followed by HD glaze will polish minor scuffs and scratches right out of surlyn... If she feels bad, and has a decent eye she can help you clean up that pod, so for less than $20 and a little time with your wife and motorcycle (bonding time for the girls) you can have it good as new... ...just so you know... Congrats on the hot wife with a twin, I've only mixed mine and her sister up once, it was fortunately just a near miss, not a full on whoops ...alright, I'll just see myself back over to the XB and Old School boards now... as above - I have a single garage. I used to park my 1275 well 1480 mini clubman in the garage with bike, garage full with bench and racking etc so space is tight. Hung from the ceiling a tennis ball on string when said tennis ball hits the screen I know when to stop. Simples. (Message edited by mcrbuelligan on August 19, 2011) |

I got that one topped, my buddies dad parks his wifes bmw z3( he always pulls it in for her), next to a new cbr250r, crf230, m2 cyclone, another 250r dualsport, and a yamaha fjr1300(sold now) in a single car garage full of tools, washer/dryer, and air compressor. lets just say its a tight fit but anything is possible |

Know why divorce costs so much? Because it's worth it. Your choice. |
