I use wd40 but I spray it at the throttle bodies, so you would have to take off the intake cover and such. spray, twist, repeat as needed.

for linkage and twist grip - I like white lithium - they make it in a spray with a tube for hard to reach areas...auto parts /home depot.

for cables (and dare I type it? "chains") - I like Tri Flow - bicycle shops / gun shops

Gotta agree with Milezero5 - you have to get into the air box and remove the big "grommet" - the breather tube can be a PIA to re-install - if you don't do it correctly the throttle linkage will "drag"
good luck!

ok you need to fix the breather tube.
it is rubbing the link on the right side.
I did this once and knoxx hd did it when they put my stator on.
it's likely not fed up far enough.

Yeah, what RT said! I've had the same problem and the breather tube was the culprit.

The rubber that goes around the throttle bodies that seal the airbox also rubs, the right hand side front linkage, I trimmed off a bit of rubber and all us good.

Remove the airbox and rubber then try your throttle, I'm guessing it will be fine, never oiled my cables in 15k 2008 bike !
