This is to plug instead of active intake solenoid (denoid).

It is used to terminate the CANBUS connection for the ECM, the plug is right next to it.

Same plug is used to terminate the CAN bus AND replace(emulate) the 'noid.

If you have a Erik Buell Racing ECM you don't need the noid resister.

I ordered two oil filters from them and it was only five bucks so I figured Id pick it up

I appreciate the replies though, and will install it when it comes in!

"If you have a Erik Buell Racing ECM you don't need the noid resister."

I'm not saying that this IS or ISN'T true, and I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to CANbus..BUT, unterminated stubs in digital systems are generally a bad thing WRT overall bus performance. I'm sure that the Erik Buell Racing ECM doesn't utilize the servo and doesn't err when it doesn't see one, but I'm not so sure that leaving that connector unterminated is optimum.

But like I said, I don't know enough about CANbus to say whether it is true in this case. It's pure speculation on my part that it might be better to have it terminated anyway if the noid isn't there.

I agree with Al, I don't like leaving unterminated connections. Very easy for something to short out. I have the plug on mine and I have the Erik Buell Racing ECM.

Well I just ordered an ECM and the resistor. For $5 bucks whether it's needed or not, still worth it not to wonder.
