Hey guys I am currently at 9500 miles on my 25R I just purchased my pipe and new ecm and was curious if anyone has done a little motor work while doing the valve check? for example cams, higher compression, port and polish anything along those lines. If you have I would be interested in hearing how it turned out. posts are appreciated! |

Keep in mind Mikes bike is a 1/4 miler I wouldn't necessarily do all that and expect long runs on the highway it might not be the best running flat out for 10 miles if you know what I mean. But man OH man is that machine gonna be sweet when it's done!!!!!! |

Hmmm good point! Thats very important because there are times when im triple digits for over 10 miles... I think aerodynamics is hurting me more than lack of power. |

You can deck the heads and bump the compression. I think .020 is the common cut, with a pretty big bump in compression. |

Thats what I had in mind, any idea how my reliability would be? Also wondering what kind of compression I can get up to with pump gas? |

> any idea how my reliability would be? Rumor is it's very, very good. I've had some issues, but I think they were mostly my fault and wouldn't necessarily be the same for others. Mine is at 14.5:1, and it will run 93, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't really like it. So, maybe deck it a bit less? You might talk to Erik Buell Racing about having your motor built to "DSB-Spec". |
