My warranty is expiring on my 08 25R. It is in for it's third clutch weep fix right now. Aside from that the bike has been flawless. Is there a REAL fix to the clutch weep? (I had the 09 rev b installed the first time it was in and it has failed twice since.) (I posted this situation yesterday about whether to extend the warranty or not but I think this is what I really need to know to make the best choice for me- Thanks) |

I think it needs to be installed very carefully. My theory is that the Harley mechanics are not as careful as they could be. I took my time and installed the kit myself. It has never leaked since. |

Did you have the X2086.1AM kit installed? |

Had my rev A replaced with rev B and the newer style sleeve etc (think the new one was silver and the old black or the other way round) that was 13 months ago, covered nearly 6000 miles since and all is still good. The dealer who done the work though no longer trades under the HD/Buell banner. |

Did you have the X2086.1AM kit installed? yes - at least that is what they told me, it is on the work order sheet and the cover is the larger puck model which I am told is the '09 model |

Yes. Ozark Harley fixed it for me on the first go around. I relayed the proper kit info to the service writer, he researched the issue and told me to monitor the leak and ride safely until the new parts came in. I took the bike in when the parts came in and rode it out of the shop a short while later the same day. Speak with your service writer and ask them to research the issue so that the proper kit and installation procedures are followed. Ride safe! |
