I have had a oem pirelli matched with a Pilot road 2 on the back for a while, I just got a Pilot road 2 on the front, and now I get bad head shake above 90 mph, especially under hard acceleration. It wasn't to bad until the other day I got a tank slapper going over 100 mph. Something is not right, it doesn't make sense that I have problems now that my tires are matched. pressures are 38 F 42 R. |

I was not fond of the Road 2 up front. Worked okay in the back. A 2 CT up front and Road 2 in the back worked well. Try 36 pounds up front and 38 in the rear and see what that does. |

Matched tires mounted at the same time is ideal, front tire balancing is probably the more critical part, although I try to get both of mine within 1/8th of an ounce. Its not hard to do, even manually. It just takes a little bit of time. One thing I don't do is mix/match tires between manufacturers. |

There was a thread a while back where several guys in the U.K. were having problems along those lines with PR2's. |

Too much air for the speed AND the heat. |

Headshake under hard acceleration is probably from incorrect input to the bars. It's relatively normal. |

i have PR2s and ive had my bike at 100+mph speeds (just did it again yesterday) with no issues with stability whatsoever. i dont have a steering damper either. im guessing you didnt have this issue before the tire change? if so, id take a look at the balancing, also check that that the axles were properly reinstalled. |

Its not an input issue at the bars, I grabbed the frame with my legs and barely touched the bars and it still happened. The issue began when the I put on the FRONT PR2, I had the back PR2 on for 3k miles with an oem front with no issues. I think I'm going back to the oem's, I have an extra set, and its not worth the safety issues to save a few bucks on the PR2's. |
