What is your 09-10 bikes Harness ECM configuration? It seems some stators last longer than others. I am trying to isolate a few variables. Thanks. 1. Harness 1.1 OEM harness with OEM ecm 1.2 OEM harness with e-b-r ecm 1.3 new harness with OEM ecm 1.4 new harness with e-b-r ecm 1.5 new harness plugged back to OEM with OEM ecm 1.6 new harness plugged back to OEM with e-b-r ecm 2. Usage: 2.1 Commuting in urban environment during peak hours 7am-10am, 3pm-7pm 2.2 Commuting in urban environment during peak hours 7am-10am, 3pm-7pm and play toy 2.3 Commuting in urban environment during NON peak hours neither 7am-10am or 3pm-7pm or commuting in a rural environment. 2.4 Commuting in urban environment during NON peak hours neither 7am-10am or 3pm-7pm or commuting in a rural environment and play toy. 2.5 play toy for spirited country rides. 2.5 track bike. My answers are 1.3 (new harness stock ecm) and 2.2 (urban commuter and play toy). |

1.2 and 2.5, 6800 miles no issues, usually somewhere around 13.7 charging, 2009CR no added electrics stuff. which reminds me of a joke... What's the hardest part about installing heated grips? Telling your father you're gay. (not that there's anything wrong with that) |

1.4,2.5.First tator went around 7600 miles and it looks like the second one went at 8200.I have to wait until I get back home to get it to a dealer.I won't be here long enough to put it in the shop. |

I just put the ebr ecm back in and did the video harness back to OEM (1.6). 13.8 is the highest and low 13's are lowest. Running the e-b-r ecm with the harness kept my voltage low and the battery light would come on. My initial impression is that the e-b-r ecm seems runs a lot better with more voltage. This is fun, going back out for more impressions with this setup. I want to get the series voltage regulator to help with stator heat next. For the last few oil changes I have been using extra oil in the system to help keep things run cooler. |

Thank you! Had no idea it was so simple. I'm pretty sure its too late in my case ,but I will sure try it. My bike is 90% race only, so I have a switch on the headligjts- and it is ok without lights and above 3-4 k. Just trying to avoid warranty arguments until the fall. |

Was 1.3, tried 1.4, for a week, now going to 1.2, mostly 2.5 rural thrashing. Running Customrewind.com rewind with Compufire 55402 series R/R. Up to 600 miles now w/ conversion, however I am experiencing low voltage, 11.9 output at idle at prolonged traffic lights/urban riding in high heat, When it gets that low, I can't get the charging rate past 12.4. When its cool or first say...20 miles, charges mid 13's to mid 14's, will charge as high as 14.7 Barely made it home the other night (35 miles) was down 11.9-12.2 trickle charger all night to recover battery. Rode 10 miles next eve to buddy's house. With Erik Buell Racing ECM and harness "upgrade" I'm putting out 12.6-13.8 on avg. w/ a meter. Resistance checked w/in specs on regulator and stator. Checked stock 2 year old battery under load, tested weak at 11.8-11.9 I'm thinking I ruined the battery back with the old system and have basically kept it going with a trickle charger. So, I'll go with OEM harness,Erik Buell Racing ecm previously mentioned stator/regulator, see what happens... If this bike was japanese, I would've beat it into the ground with a sledge by now, but I'm still patient with the puzzle. |

Bypassed 'the fix' yesterday. Lo and behold- she's great! Stop and go traffic , 13.9 - 13.2 with a lowest of 12.8 i'm knockin on wood this is fantastic... |

Weird huh? Runs like a Bat out of Heck w/o 'the fix'. In the last few days of urban riding every day it seems to have more torque from the idle on up. Starting from a stop the clutch doesn't need nearly as much rpm's and slipping to get going. I am no engineer or mechanic but I think low voltages hamper the ignition's potential. |

Bypassed the harness fix...presto, better voltage....13/2-14.0, extended idle goes down to 12.2, lopes a little at idle w/ the Erik Buell Racing ECU. I flushed the radiator tonight, Replaced stock anti freeze w/ engine ice, took it out on some back roads and thrashed it hard. Highest temp. I got was 175, running it up to about 8 grand repeatedly, stopped and let it idle for awhile. We shall see..... |

1.4, 2.4, was 1.1, 1.3 Stator gone @5500 miles with 1.1 Then the relay on a harness gone @8500 miles with 1.3. All new charging system since then. Now @10000 miles, no problems so far. |
