this has only happened since i changed my ecm to an ebr race one
when i start the bike from cold, i wait for the temp to rise a little then as i got to pull away the bike always dies, i fire it up again and then its all fine, its does this everytime like i can't bloody ride or something, i tried giving it more revs and slip the clutch a little to get it going, this resulted in getting 20ft before cough splutter then all fine, anyone experienced this?
i've done tps resets etc

Yep - mine does it every time.

I now start the bike, blip the throttle once and then pull away, all is good in the world..

You might try recalibrating the TPS.

I had the same thing happen when I switched to the Erik Buell Racing ECM. It eventually corrected itself and would start and run just fine.

I just switched back to the OEM ECM and it stalls again. : )

Sounds like you didn't let the bike idle for 10 minutes after installing the ECM.

Albert, i find upon cold start up, i let it run whie i put my lid and gloves on, shut my gate, get on bike, blip the throttle, then pull away and its fine. If i dont do this it is a bit juddery, but doesnt cut out ?

Mine cuts out if I don't blip it, the first time it happened I nearly dropped the bike as it let me get about 20' then "hesitated" and 20' from my driveway is a 90 degree corner..

I DID let the bike idle for 10 mins post install but it has been like this since I pu tthe Erik Buell Racing ECM on... I can live with it.

I also have to remember to let my friends know if I ever let them ride trhe bike..

I posted the answer to this, as it seems to effect UK bikes with the Erik Buell Racing ECM, a while ago, Go figure. not part of the in crowd it seems.

I'm not sure what the "in crowd" bit means but your post:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/594557.html

requires the use of Tunerpro and I'll have to hold my hands up and say I'm not entirely sure that's something I'd ever get around to.

It is good info though, I suspect it's just got buried in the archives.

I don't have an 1125R, but I have an '08 XB12Ss which was updated with the BUE2D firmware before warranty ran out. I've been tuning mine since I got it because it ran like CRAP. Now I've got it running great and something I found that was totally killing it was a severely over-rich acceleration enrichment table. At 800 RPM, the table was commanding 200% enrichment and at 1200 RPM, it was set to 150%. I reduced these to something like 20% and 40% respectively and the bike runs GREAT. You can blip the throttle at idle and it doesn't bog or stall. Maybe that could be part of your issue? I have also edjusted the startup enrichment and warmup enrichment tables.

idle 10mins after install? first I heard of this.

So what would happen if this wasn't done? And why need it be done?

from what i gather it allows the ECM time to adjust your IAC settings

You need to disconnect or remove the sidestand sensor. This will solve the problem.

Where did that info come from? It seems plausible IF the issue genuinely only exists on European bikes but I'd like to know the origin of the info...

I tried it myself. European bikes differ from US bikes by that sensor. I had this sensor installed. Now, I removed it.

Fuel helps too...!

As I have "tuned my own"... it's easy to replicate this problem by having the low rpm/low throttle fuel too lean.

Just a coupla cells and one or two points rich...is all it takes.
All is well. No more cold stalling, idle and just off idle is very stable when hot.
