http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD01z2my3qw If so, I hope you recover and get well soon. Just putting this on here if someone didn't know that this footage was out there. |

That sucks. If the driver of the car was DWI, I hope he gets what he deserves. |

This video will be very useful for the rider if the driver of the car was in fact at fault. There appeared to be a couple of dozen people at the crash site, and the fact that one of them decided to video the scene was a very good thing. I sincerely wish someone had a video of the scene after my accident when the SUV turned left in front of me- I spent two and a half years in recovery (five surgeries, $250,000+ in medical bills) and a video would have been helpful in dealing with the at fault SUV driver's insurance company. Although it may appear on the surface to be callous, accident scene evidence in the form of video is extremely important to the victim. I've been there, and I hope I'm never there again... |

A witness stopped to give a police report when a left turner got me, and it was incredibly helpful in dealing with the at fault drivers insurance company. I've done the same for others in car accidents, it was a real blessing that somebody did it for me as well. |

I'm not saying that the footage and helping someone on a scene is useless; however, the cameraman seemed to merely focus on the poor bueller wretching on the ground. Terrible. He didn't focus on the scene, figuring out what happened, or hell, even if the guy was ok. =( |

I think the cameraman might have talked with the rider before the camera-phone ever was turned on. Either way, the people helping him take things off (the taking off of the helmet before the paramedics was probably not a good idea, in my opinion). |

http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.ph p?t=176956 I'll throw this out there. a bunch of guys at GSR have gotten these ebay spy cameras that you can just clip onto your helmet when you ride. Cost $1 plus $9 shipping $10 total. With an 8Gbyte microSD card (not included) it will record for 2 hours. I got a ticket 3 weeks ago, wish I had had mine on. Cop claimed I was leading a pack of speeding riders. Was not me but still waiting to see the damages from doing 80 in a 60. might have helped this guy as well. |

I'm seriously thinking about doing the "camera while riding" bit for commuting - in addition to possibly clarifying things if there is a crash I'm involved in, I think the comedy value of posting some of the assholes I see on the highway on youtube is priceless. Create a blog - AlbuquerqueAholes.com & post video of the worst people I see on the road. |
