I am planning an email to Erik Buell Racingrrr to order new fork springs... maybe rear shock spring too and thought i would check with the web experts first for advice on what to order. I am 165# geared up and my 2009 R is over sprung for this weight. My sag got close with only 1/2 turn of preload up front and position 2 on the shock. I dont really remember the measurements but I do remember I was still sitting too high. Any little guys out there that have been through this already? thanks, todd |

You want the light ones. Probably .92, if I had to guess. |

see here (scroll down): http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/618487.html I believe...that the E-B-R springs for the rear shock only fit their "showa race shock" - call them (ebr) to make sure I have changed the oil in my front forks ...Red Line makes a 2.5wt - works well for me - allows me to use full range of adjmnt of the "clickers"- the stock stuff looks like ATF (red)...guessing at 10wt? - you should come over and give mine a try.. if you like it you could easily duplicate it. |

Nuts is correct. The springs (front and rear) on the Erik Buell Racing site are for the Showa race suspension pieces. Need to have the cartridge kit in front, and the race spring in rear. At least according to the descriptions on the site. I'm not sure that there is a way to make them work with the stock stuff, an email to Erik Buell Racing would verify. |

Do you have the Showa 25mm cartridge fork kit? If not, check out http://racetech.com/ProductSearch/2/Buell/1125R/20 08-09 |

another thread I found back in March - see 3rd post by my name...comments from Eric with a K: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/624343.html most likely you could cut some length off the pre-load spacer...and use the stock springs you would have to build a simple spring compressor to remove the top nut from the dampening rod - a couple of turn buckles some "s" hooks and some light chain and you could compress the spring enough to get a wrench on the jam nut... good luck (Message edited by nuts4mc on July 19, 2011) |

gpsuspension.com makes their own race valves, springs, rebuild stuff, and skills to make your stock setup better. If you have the $$ they also sell fork cartridge kits, Ohlin and Penske shocks... |

I will also recommend GP Suspension. They know the Buell well. |

gpsuspension.com maybe our only hope. Racetech springs have been on backorder for quite awhile, at least the .85kg springs. You'd need to mail your forks to gpsuspension. I don't think they will send you springs. |

Go for their setup. the principal is a mechanical engineer who keeps his three cnc machines humming making custom fork internals.... The valving they make is noticeably better and made of the highest grade alloys. The only external difference on an 1125 is the compression and rebound adjusters are now allen rather than a screwdriver slot. They are very sensitive, using the allen wrench you can move one flat at a time. |
