So i went to change the oil yesturday and noticed my water pump was leaking a bit out of the weep hole. After my oil change i cleaned the leak and took it for a short ride...no fluid leak! i rode to work(5 miles maybe)then a short joy ride on the way home and it has leaked some more! does this mean the water pump is taking a spit or what? its a 2008 1125r with just over 6k miles. |

Mine weeps a little after shutdown, sometimes none. It's been doing it for 7,000 miles now. When or if it starts gushing fluid while running, then I'll worry about it. |

I had my '08 leak sorted under Warranty. The Dealer told me there was an 'upgrade' kit to do this. |

Thse are typical HD and Buell teething issues, a better one comes out. The sorting out of My 96S1 was like that so it doesn't bother me as much this time around. 6,000 miles is pretty new, No warranty or $$? DIY and save. Having the S1 as a backup isn't all that bad either. The S1 has 94K miles and had its share of sorting before becoming very reliable. Now the bike just keeps on going. |

"has anyone had a water pump fail yet?" There has been a few failures posted on here if I remember correctly. I know of two local dealers here in Ohio that has changed a couple a piece too. |
