08 1125r, 3300 miles, was a track bike. The good: lots of stuff, including: Erik Buell Racing swingarm and 520 chain drive, fixed pegs, Vortex clip-ons, ERB rearsets, jardine rt-5, brembo brakes, actuators, etc. front and rear, catalyst fairing kit, pela crash sliders, AK-20 fork kit, all stock parts. Also, on the dyno: 138 hp, 98 ft. lbs.
The bad: ridden hard, been down, rear plastics bondo'd and ready to paint, turn signals off, rear brake pads gone, rear brake master and lever off (says he has them).

$4K, firm.

To buy (and put back together) or not to buy. That is the question.

I'd say go for it!

>>>>While its been beaten to death { My track bike has the same mileage and I NEVER put a wrench on it other than maint. Got one with 20,000 on it that doesn't get babied either. You keep good oil in it and I don't think you could hurt it if you tried.}

Sounds like a good deal. The AK-20 kit is worth $1k alone.

Taken care of, these motors last and last. Eventually it gets soft on power, but it's still dependable.

$4K? You could probably part it out and make way more than your money back:

Chain conversion, Clip ons, rearsets and Brembos, bodywork - there's well over four grand there alone. You could put it back together, including paint, in a weekend.

What's the guy's phone number??

This is a really good deal! I'd buy it if I had the cash.

My 2008 1125R has over 62,000 miles. Not hard track models, but definitely not easy.

She's down right now, but not out for the count... Problem is most likely a worn starter clutch gear. Currently at my friend's shop.

Damn Chameleon, that is some history! Very informative and I can't believe the number of belts you've been through.

Seems like a couple of expensive hiccups and of course it doesn't help looping the thing, but in 60,000 miles it certainly looks mostly like regular maintenance aside from taillights and clutch issues.

I just had a test ride on a 25th anniversary signature edition that has 713 miles on it. Man what a machine! My brother sold his Xb12 for $3800.00 and got this for 6K. It is a fantastic bike and i loved it. I have a 2005 kawai ZX10R and this is right up there with that bike. I just loved it!!!!!

Yeah, as I said, definitely not easy miles.

if it was for sale in the UK I would buy it immediately just to get my hands on the swinging arm conversion so I can play around with the final drive ratio a bit.

+1

I'd snap that up at that price, hell even for spare parts for my road bike... But as a track tool that'd be hard to beat at that price.

It certainly does sound like a deal, the swingarm conversion alone is worth half the price.
