Just wondering if the $25 a can touch up paint looks factory when all is said and done? Any tips on how best to blend in an area, prep the surface, etc? I'm not a total n00b at painting, but I've yet to see a touch up paint that actually blends in and disappears...it usually sticks out and looks kind of amateurish too me (speaking from scratch and ding repair on various automobiles). Thanks in advance. | ||

Can't say for the blue, but the clear amber for my wheels and the motor touch-up(Ti? I forget) blend perfectly. All I've tried tho are the small bottle/brush combo. I haven't tried the rattle-cans. Z | ||

the phantom metallic black blends perfectly since it's not clear coated. Usually dull finishes will blend very well. I have not seen a blue frame in person so I don't know how it would turn out. | ||

I've used the phantom metallic on my swingarm. Invisible except for close inspection and even then it is probably only because I know it is there. It should feather in pretty nicely if you know at all what you are doing. I think the key is lots of light coats, too thick and you will lose the texture. Since the finish is similar, I would think the blue would blend just as well. Not being a huge fan of the bruised look, if I had an 08 I would use a good scratch as an excuse to go bare aluminum frame, probably with a nice brushed finish. I tried the small touch up containers with the brush in the top, It looks ok but you can tell where it was applied. The color was the 08 frame blue. Hope this helps Scott (Message edited by velocity on May 23, 2011) | ||
