Well, I'm going to take the chance. Metzeler does NOT list them as "recommended" for the 1125R (though it is for the Firebolt and Lightning models). All measurements are the same as for the Sportec M3 which IS recommended. The Z6 is a sport-TOURING tire, and is designed for higher tread life than out and out maximum grip. It is still supposed to provide adequate grip for spirited riding, however. Since I don't ride at 10/10 on the street (probably closer to 6/10), and rarely venture on to the track I'm going to give these a try. I'm tired of replacing tires every 6,000 miles (I'm NOT made out of money). Reviews after I've logged a few hundred miles on them. | ||

Should be just fine. I went though a few Metz Z6s when I had my XB9S. Plenty grippy for street use. My only complaint is that the rear doesn't have any tread or a wear indicator in the center of the tire. So it's hard to tell when they're worn out. I had to nurse it home with cords showing once. | ||

I bought these a few months ago Metzeler Sportec M5 Interact I have been very pleased with the tire. Wet and dry handling is supreme. I will have to see how the mileage goes. Eddie | ||

I think ken is saying the 1125 has too much hp for the z6's, but the firebolt and lightning has less hp, so they are ok for the z6's. | ||

I had Z6's on my Ducati ST4S and loved them. Just put the Pirelli Angel ST's on my 1125R and hope to see how they work on Alaskan roads... | ||

My friend runs the Interact Z6's on his Kawasaki Concours 14. If it can handle that beast's weight and horsepower, the 1125R is nothing. | ||

I think you will be fine I have heard they are quite decent in the wet weather and cooler road temps as well | ||

I have ran the Angel's on my 1125R for about 5000 miles now. most of my riding is on freeways here in So. Cali. but I don't worry about the grip it's great and quick warm up. | ||

what about braking 'HP'? stopping an 1125 is the same as stopping an XB as far as the front tire and it's friction forces are concerned. just get the damned tires, and let us know how many miles they last you | ||

I used Sportec M3 in the winter, they warm up fast in cold weather and have good wet weather grip and wear quite well, in the Spring the Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa go back on though ready for whatever summer we get. | ||

Nillaice... actually, since the 1125R weighs LESS than the XBs, I suspect that unless you are braking from "LUDICROUS SPEED" it is actually EASIER on the tire... | ||

despite that the 1125's overall mass IS less, if it is lower and more forward; the braking forces will be at a lower angle to the front tire's contact patch and therefore can be a larger force with out 'endo'-ing and furthermore Susan, i wouldn't be the least bit surprised to learn that all four of them habitually smoked marijuana cigarettes | ||

How the hell do you guys get so many miles on your rear tires? The stock Perelli got about 6000 and my Q2 only got about 5000. I thought the Q2 would have provided more mileage than the Perelli but nope, not in my case. | ||

Yup, had the exact same problem with my Z6 rear on my 2009 "sporterized" Harley Dyna. Looked like it had another thousand miles on one side of the tire, but the other side starting showing chord during a overnight ride and I had to get my bike trucked home. I don't know what Metzeler was thinking.... I won't be buying a Z6 again. -Tutt | ||

I've gone through 3 sets of Metzeler Z6 tires on my 1125R and love them. I've tried a few others, but keep coming back to them. The lack of a center wear bar is a fact, but not one that will stop me from buying another set. They do fine on the cords. This was after getting home from a 3,876.1 mile trip. Rear tire has at least 11,000 miles on it.  |
