I am currently the high bidder on this, but only by being too curious as to what the reserve was. Not sure I can afford it, so I am making sure anybody who might be interested is aware of it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ewItem&item=250809417637 |

You might be able to get it to work with the flexi-glass ram-air setup, but I can't tell for sure. I don't think it will work with a stock bike setup. $1500... youch. (Message edited by jdugger on April 29, 2011) |

I like how the EBay page says "New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item " Sure look like the box was opened to me!

Considering that my race glass for last season was close to a grand this is a great deal. Too pretty to wreck but F I wish I didn't just pick up a Flexi setup and an HPE exhaust I would be all over this. |

Congratulations on your new bodywork . . . . . it's gorgeous. Your argument . . . that you made the same mistake 8 time over the course or an hour . . . is going to fall on deaf ears I'm afraid. It appears you are about to enter into a legally binding contract. The upside it . . . it's GREAT bodywork. |

Just bail on it, F I cant even count how many people have bailed on my auctions...Totally lost interest in using ebay anymore. Message the guy and tell him the story and then I'll message the guy and lowball the shit out of him and then someone else can do the same and then we can chip in together and split it up Parting it out would go pretty well I would imagine ! |

If I'm not mistaken this IS flexiglass, straight out of BC Canada - this looks to be the precursor to the current flexiglass ram air set up. |

This thread is a joke, right? You accidentally bid up to 1500 when you couldnt afford it? |

I just thought of a new business model. I list something on ebay, bid on it myself, then plead for other people to bid over me because I can't afford the price. My IPO is next year; I'll offer a discount to this group (which I won't be able to afford). |

Bwbhighspl, that is known as shell bidding, and is against Ebay TOS, but that doesn't stop people from doing it. |

Shell bidding is bidding on your item to up the price, and is only effective if people are bidding on the item to begin with. I'm bidding on my own item until the reserve price is met, *before* there is any interest, then begging others to bid over me. This is a key distinction. It's unfair in that I know the reserve price, but that's okay, because I don't stop until I reach it, and I'm rapidly bidding against myself. Can I commit you to a 5% ownership? |

Well it still involves artificially inflating the price of your item, so regardless of what you want to call it, it is still against the TOS. Also, some quick research, it is "shill" not shell like I previously thought. http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-Shill-b idding.html |

Technically, I'm only bidding up to the reserve price, and then stopping. This would mean I'm not inflating the price. Otherwise, the reserve price by definition is an artificial inflation relative to the starting price. I'm assuming you are negotiating for a 10% ownership. You drive a hard bargain, but I'll do it. However, you have to advertise my business on BWB. |

I was the high bidder and wanted these parts until Robmissimo decided to play games with his bidding. I have bought several things on Ebay below the reserved price and have lost more to people who out bid me then defaulted on payment. |

This is why we can't have nice things. At least I know one eBay jerk to avoid buying from. (Message edited by mountainstorm on May 05, 2011) |

Yes, I've been in that situation a few times, bid and bid and bid, and then the person who wins (not me) doesnt pay. That gets the seller emailing me with an option to buy at my high bid - I always tell them to relist it, Im not paying that amount. They want you to pay the amount that was your highest bid, and I understand that up to the point where you realize the only reason you bid as high as you did was because a deadbeat bidder kept upping it and then backed out. Im not paying X when I couldve won with Y if it hadnt been for that |
