So I work at a car dealership and I get discounts with our body services and also has a friend who owns a body shop which are great but here is the dilema.
With the 2008 1125R I have trouble trying to come up with colors or a scheme that I think would go good with the blue frame.
Just curious what you guys have done or if you have colors that you'veseen that would work with the blue frame.
Pics would be nice for ideas as well.
Right now I'm thinking going with a Carbon Fiber Vinyl wrap black and gray because buying the actual Limberger kit is ridiculous.
Tim aka No_rice painted his a burnt orange, back in 2008. One of the dealers by East Troy(Ukes?) had one painted like a flag, with stars and stripes.
Mine, I clearcoated my Midnight Blue frame and swingarm with lacquer, I have OEM black plastics and changed the windscreen and airbox to Kick Ash. It looked real good the first year, it's all cracked now tho and it's time to strip and paint.
blue/gold, blue/silver = high end/classy color combo blue/yellow, blue/orange = hi-vis color combo (think Suzuki moto-x bikes of the 70s-80s) Blue/blue with white/red accents(pin stripes) good luck
""IDK, carbon vinyl wrap seems a little poseur......""
What kinda crap comment is that? What's the reason for C.F. for on a street bike...for anyway....to LOOK kool...right..?
If someone uses a "well" applied vinyl C.F. wrap...what's the big deal..? If it's done right, and the owner says nothing..no ones the wiser, and no one cares one way or the other.
Hell...carbon fiber is too brittle and prone to cracking anyway.
So who's really "posing" more thAn the other. One's posing for putting on something that does nothing (ok..you loose 3 grams of weight!?) but look neato. Or one using a wrap to look like C.F. and has no further problems down the road with cracking and splitting.

UM NO... REAL GOOD Carbon Fiber is WAY LIGHTER AND WAY STRONGER than any plastic and/or fiberglass.... i know "its all in resin and other bonding agents... blah blah blah..." and thats why i agree with sprintst. in a way... HOWEVER i absolutly love the way Avalaugh's bike looks....
I think it looks great. For street riding it is for looks right? Here is some new technology you guys might find interesting. I have a friend doing this and he cant wait to go off on my 1125r.
Thanks Carbon thats the kit I was looking at and was hoping for more pictures.
Like that the Pods still show just not sure if I like how it flows with it. I don't like the "factory" side fairings because they hide the pods they also scratched up my pods with the dirt getting in between.

Agree Not into it. It really is poseur-ish. Think about it 'i want it to look expensive and lightened etc etc......but its not'
And for the comment that CF is brittle and breaks too easy etc...... do you know much about CF? Like Froggy said, sure, the cheap stuff that you've heard about/experienced probably was brittle and prone to cracking. But quality CF is very strong
But whatever, if its your bike, do what you want to do
For my opinions on color to go with the blue frame and wheels - a nice silver or gray would stay classy and go nice with it. Or white.
Carbonrider I kinda like that white wheel, where's the rear one at? Actually, I really like it. I think I need to scrounge up some white wheels for mine someday.
I personally like the black plastics the bike came with. Although I completely understand your desire to modify your bike. I think we all want to be different. I mean not many people ride Buells. But to help you I will go with hybrid on silver or grey. Shoot probably dark grey. That would be a nice clean look. And i can't remember seeing any 1125s that color before
Not sure why but even when I was a little kid I hated stickers. I always removed all the decals and stickers from my stuff. I was offended that some toy maker thought a crudely drawn picture of something stuck to my toy would be acceptable.
I feel the same way about stick on chrome, stick on CF, stick on fake hood scoops. If it's fake I don't care how pretty it is.
That's why real CF is so tasty. It's not just made of Awesome and coated in Potential Heroics, it looks like Wonder Woman's tits under a full moon.
Fake CF causes me to question my own masculinity and makes me feel threatened.
It’s a good job we all have different opinions otherwise life would be quite dull and all our bikes would look the same! Personally I think “Avalaughs” bike looks pretty sweet with the “Carbon” vinyl and if he wants to sell the bike or change it for next season he can just peal it off and go back to original. } These days loads of cars and bikes are being done in vinyl simply for that reason.. NICE BIKE.
