Well I was going to leave my home on the bike, I let the engine warm up ad normal, as I was pulling away from the drive way. The motor just cut off and nothing is displayed on the instrument cluster. All the lights still come on but I can't crank or get anything on the cluster. Do I have a bad cluster? Any ideas?

Try charging the battery first to rule out a bad battery.

Check the plug that connects into the back of the cluster. Do u hear the fuel pump cycle when u turn the key on?

No "normal" sounds Are heard when turning the key, hooked up a jumper box and nothing happened either, I'll check the plug behind the cluster

Check your fuses underneath the seat area.

forgot to say, hooking the battery up and actually looking at the voltage, its doing fine. there is enough voltage to where the cluster should be turning on, i had a car hooked up to jump it as well and nothing

Look at the relays, I think the stater runs off a different relay then the lights, the relay box is black, pull off the coverand there are four relays, the ed manual says which one is the stater relay.

looked at the relays, did Ohm checks, and seemed to all check out. the relays click on when the key is turned on, as well as the kill switch it hit. The weirdest thing is i have headlights, both high and low, and brake light comes on. but no tail or turn signals, on top of nothing on the cluster. just a weird all around problem. Dropped it off at the dealer today, hopefully its not to bad of a problem. Thank god for extended service plans.

Have you checked the fuses? I had one mechanically fail (cheap fuse) check electrically.

Sure sounds like a blown fuse to me. If it started up before the cluster died, it can't be the cluster.

Since it won't even turn over when hooked up to car, it can't be because you don't have enough juice.

It's like a "switch" or connection was cut.

See if turning the handlebars has any effect.
I had the wires to the switch break on the back of the switch - twice.
The second time it happened, I relieved some material from the fairing stay to put less stress on the wiring.

no trouble since.

So just got off the phone with the dealer, it looks like it's going to be the ignition switch. Now comes the wait for MT to approve the warrantee repair...
