While i figure my drain plug issue and find time from work ? A friend is suggesting its not such a great idea because the gaskets will dry out...? Interesting point, just checking to see if its valid |

If you are talking a few weeks I'm sure you will be fine. Long term storage I would want oil in mine. |

No worries! it will take a very long time for anything to "dry out". Are you having a problem finding a Helicoil? |

Agreed. Unless you're talking 20 years, just put some duct tape over the hole (to keep crap out..!) and go about your daily work... Funny...drying out gaskets...?!?!?! All gaskets are sandwiched between two parts. They are "designed" to stay dry (hopefully!)...! For short term (coupa months)...wet things will stay wet just fine. Mike |

Thanks guys, good to know. Usanigel: Yes, cant find the damn thing (Was trying to get Time Sert vs helicoil,..dont want to deal with that pesky tang at the end). Just haven't had that much time from work (Hit one napa and two autozones so far only).....But i did get one of those expandable rubber bungs and plugged it in there for the time being. So no crap going in (thnks Mike) Good thing i have a couple other bikes to go to work to so fixing the threads is not an emergency. cheers |

Mac, if you want to send the plug to me I can measure it for you and might even find one too! You need the tap too to recut the threads. Let me know. |
